This song is the inspiration for today's "letter" series. An all-time favorite of mine all the way back to when it first appeared in 1962. A bold move and a ground-breaker in light of the condition of pop music at the time. I haven't heard much about Ms. Lester since (I always thought she deserved a stellar singing career) but Wikipedia indicates she's been slogging away in one branch of showbiz or another all these years.
