Kevin Devine continues to be one of the hardest working touring musicians with his announcement of additional summer tour dates. Never has the backing of a once 18th century church turned concert hall seemed more appropriate than when Say Anything took to the stage of Mr. Smalls last night. The sold-out crowd was rapt to Say Anything's every word, their punk anthems that span the bashing of hipster trends and struggles with growing up led a charged evening of adoration, making it hard not to feel a touch converted to a fan upon leaving. Infectious anticipation and excitement lasted amongst fans, despite the lenghty wait provided in three openers (Front Bottoms, Fake Problems and Kevin Devine and the Goddamn [...]

My feelings about the end of March in the Denver area are conflicted: I don’t quite know how I’m going to be standing at the end of it and there’s a lot of “THIS IS GOING TO BE SO AWESOME” happening. I suppose spring has officially arrived in the music scene, even though we’ve still got a few months of snow in these parts. 23 March / Andrew Jackson Jihad / Marquis Theater / [ tickets ] Andrew Jackson Jihad were a huge part [...]

Ahead of Kevin Devine's competition winners' only gig for us at a secret London location last week (OK, it was Dalston basement venue Power Lunches - guess it's fine to reveal now it's been and gone!), we met up with the Brooklyn singer-songwriter at his label HQ nearby, where he played two acoustic tracks exclusively in front of our cameras. First up is his own 'Sleepwalking Through My Life', but then an indie-pop treat: his take on Belle and Sebastian's 'Get Me Away From Here, I'm Dying'.
