A fair amount of time has gone by since any covers found their way onto Eclectic Eavesdroppings. There are some very original takes here, that at times out-shine their originals. Without further ado, I present you with more coverage. Florence & the Machine – Halo (Beyonce Cover) [...]

photo: paulobrandao Yesterday's post on Example's new song included the Joker & Ginz and Fred Falke remixes, the latter of which being my favourite of the two. Anyhow, more remixes are also about, specifically those of drumnbass mastermind Blame and someone else called Moam (often mislabelled as Moon). Weird name but great remix, very progressive sound to it and great use of piano. Tiesto included it on his Clublife Podcast a few days ago. And Blame remix is great as you'd expect. Example - Watch The [...]

photo: joe penniston Quite a bit of news for you today so I'll start with that. Also apologies I didn't post yesterday, I mistimed it badly. Anyway I forgot to mention the other day that the Arctic Monkeys release their new single, "Crying Lightning" - on Monday. I may grab myself a copy off iTunes but I'm not sure. I've seen some live performances of the song and I'm not overly convinced. If you like their more grown up rock sound, I think it'll be something you enjoy. Also, there's a very [...]

I was going to write a list of the best songs in the first half of 2009, but PMA's Top 50 article covered them all. Here's what I'm looking forward to in the second half of this amazing year of music. July 6 Bombay Bicycle Club Bombay Bicycle Club is fronted by a singer with the voice of a mythical golem, made of twigs, leaves and stones. After two singles that sound nothing alike, the English rock band releases their highly [...]
I've been umming and ahhing over whether to write about Kid British for a few days now. After hearing that the guys will be performing for free in Manchester as part of the BBC Introducing gigs my mind was made up. The bands new single, Our House Is Dadless, is a very catchy song which samples Madness' Our House. As much as I like the song I'm just not sure how much staying power it has. I could see the song being a big summer hit due to its laid back style but relying on rehashing [...]
kid british - our house is dadless http://feeds.feedburner.com/Wo ngiesMusicWorld

The Enemy have been a formidable force in the UK music scene for almost two years now, and have embarked on a rather large UK tour to gear up for their new album, Music for The People . Kid British opened up, sounding like a weak combination of a tonne of really good bands. Perfectly competent, they threw in a few surprises (a cover of Madness' "Our House"? Did not see that one coming!), and belted through a set that got a lot of the [...]
I really like this band Kid British. They are as close to 4th wave ska as you can get, I suppose. They did their homework. The Specials asked them to open their 30th anniversary tour this year, so someone's paying attention. This is them doing an acoustic cover of Katy's jam. I like it, thought I'd share with you. Check out their MySpace.
First video I've posted in a while really. Not because the video is all that great (well, I like it for its Britishness) but because the song is very good. I still really like this band and think they could go places. You can check out the video for the band below.
I suppose I'd better post a blog post seeing as Cosmo has been filling in for me a lot. The weather has also been lovely the past couple of days which has been a turn up. Hottest day of the year on Friday and I could get away without wearing a jacket most of the day. Anyway first up is a remix of Lily Allen's "The Fear." The remix is the "Automatic Panic vs DJ Cat NYC Remix" and I personally really like it. The distortion and beats are all good and I like the heavy drum beat. [...]
Good afternoon, I thought it was time I wrote a post. Anyway music has been a bit hard to find recently for me. I haven't found many new songs which I really feel are blogworthy. There's the same old RnB/Hip-Hop stuff but none of it sounds special. So, I thought I'd take a more Indie aspect. Before I get to that though "Dem Na Like Me" was only released in the USA yesterday, we'll have to wait another 2 weeks to get it over here. Lucky yanks. Anyway, the main band I'll write about today are called "Kid [...]
