As previously reported, Arcade Fire and The Decemberists are among the artists who contributed new material to the upcoming film Hunger Games . Now, as ArcadeFireTube points out , the soundtrack's tracklist has been posted on iTunes and The Decemberists' contribution, entitled "One Engine", is already available for purchase. WZRD, the duo made up of the venerable Kid Cudi and Dot Da Genius, Kudi's long time friend and producer, has an album scheduled to drop on the 28th. This is one of a couple tracks that they've leaked and it's hard not to love. Desire is another small band that released an album back in 2009, entitled II, which featured the song "Under Your Spell". That song is on the soundtrack for the recently released Gosling film "Drive" and is of course sampled by WZRD on Teleport 2 Me. WZRD disappointed many fans when they announced their album was being pushed back from January 31 to February 28. To make up for it Kid Cudi and Dot Da Genius released "Teleport 2 Me, Jamie" and "Brake" on iTunes . Cudder turned 27 yesterday, and what better way to celebrate than to make some $$ by putting his track up on iTunes? Whenever a hip-hop artist attempts to make a "rock" album, the shit sucks. That's a proven fact. We're lucky then that I can't really consider Kid Cudi to be a "rapper". He's always been too spacey and weird to be contained in a stereotypical genre like that. The uneducated say that his upcoming WZRD album is him attempting to go the rock route - but again, he's too bizarre to just attempt a rock album. I see it as him wanting to explore other sounds and mess with different kinds of productions from what he's grown accustomed to. Kid Cudi first gave fans a taste of his and Dot Da Genius' WZRD single "Teleport 2 Me, Jamie" two weeks ago, during a Heatwave Festival gig in Middleton, Australia . And today the song, which samples Desire's electro jam "Under Your Spell", has hit iTunes. With news a few weeks ago that the collaborative project between KiD CuDi and Dot Da Genius known as WZRD was going to be pushed back to Feb. 28, the duo took to the internet today to unleash a new track to hold the fans over.
