Generally, when I listen to Kid Sister , the word "menacing" never comes to mind, but on her track "Mickey," off her new four-song EP Kiss & Tell , the Chicago-based MC gets pretty fierce. As soon as you press play, the back beat thunders as Kid Sister's flow pulses over the track. At times, "Mickey," sounds and feels like a hip-shaking track by sultry electro-rocker Peaches, due to Kid Sister's confident, larger-than-life attitude. Like a lot of people, I was put on to Kid Sister when Kanye hopped on that remix of Pro Nails , and while her dirty mouthed flow is enjoyable, the most impressive thing for me is her producers and collaborators, who are in the upper echelons of the dance music world. Her impressive run of producers (A Trak, Rusko, Herv) is continued on this EP as Nadastrom, Sinden and 5kin&bone5 step up to the plate.
