A lyric video for the new Uncluded track, "TV On Ten," which comes off the surprise collaboration's debut album, Hokey Fright . The album is looking at a release this week on Rhymesayers Entertainment. The Uncluded is essentially the artistic pairing of singer-songwriter Kimya Dawson and MC Aesop Rock. These unlikely collaborators found common ground on a number of tracks from Kimya Dawson's last full-length , and it seems they're trying to stretch their creative spark out for an entire album. The Uncluded' s debut album, Hokey Fright , is an oddly delicious mix from two odd performers. Kimya Dawson and Aesop Rock share off-center delivery and lyricism. Their mix of irreverent folk rock and eloquent rap isn't a likely pairing, but thankfully Dawson and Ace are just that good. When we first heard that Aesop Rock and Kimya Dawson would be collaborating together, we didn't really know what to expect. But after further examination, it was clear that these two, despite having quite different styles, their creative output was perfectly similar. Making music that makes the listener actually feel good or positive about life ain't easy. Too often, it comes across as contrived or childish, leaving the listener even more jaded than before. But every now and then, a duo like the Uncluded (Aesop Rock and Kimya Dawson) comes along to shatter that stereotype with singles like "Delicate Cycle". It's a feel-good track with a playful, albeit meaningful, edge to it with some equally off-center visuals to boot. Watch below.
