After taking its sweet time last year, summer has struck back with a vengeance. At least here in the midwest, 90+ degree temperatures and clear, sunny skies are quickly becoming the norm. Of course, with the changing of the seasons not only comes trips to the beach and increased slushie sales but exuberant, feel-good summer jams. As is our tradition here at Music For Ants, we're providing a mix that will hopefully soundtrack some of your 2012 summer memories. Download below or take a listen at Spotify . Enjoy! [[ This is a content summary only. Adam Bainbridge and his cadre of soulful post-disco/house/dance revelers turned up on these shores this week, and the Village's (Le) Poisson Rouge door last night, for their first-ever show in NYC. This wasn't their first American show, mind - there was that series of gigs in Austin earlier this year during which Kindness introduced his cheeky brand of deadpan charisma, his glowing background singers, his long legs and painted-on pants and reflectively shiny shoes. It was Kindness's first show on these shores with a full-length officially out and so a crowd fully versed in World, You Need A Chage [...]

You'll all be proud to learn that I managed - just barely - to restrain myself from naming the rap video that stars the terrifying decrepit pro-wrestling quasi-legend as this week's #1 video. This took an incredible amount of self-control, and I'm still second-guessing myself about it. Just know that, if you're making a video, you will absolutely earn yourself a place on this list if you cast Sid or Spike Dudley or TAKA Michinoku or Glacier or the Disciples Of Apocalypse or Norman Smiley in it. This week's picks: Read More...

Kindness - House There is a slow-tender-minimalistic side to this song that really hits the inner'eds more so than vibin' next to a large speaker during a song that could posses "drops". The tones that come from the piano and the syncopated synth that comes in seem to hit my ears and travel to my toes tingling everything along the way. The album Cyan has been out for a while in the UK but doesn't ship in the US till June 5th. So obviously if you live in the UK you should already have [...]
Having already released one of the best albums of the year, Kindess has now made the best music video we've seen in a long time.
Remember that awesome video from Kindness for "Cyan" from last year? If not go remind yourself over here . Today Adam has let loose the visuals for " House " which is released on June 18th, and you may remember from last months preview. The video is a rather simple affair and features Adam Bainbridge sat alongside a young child and an organ. Its pretty fun to watch the video develop and the relationship between the two develop. Check it out above. World, You Need A Change Of Mind [...]

With Kindness being a bit of a buzzband , I thought I'd remind you of this pretty nice cover of Roy Davis Jr.'s Gabriel.

(Song Of The Day) Kindness - House This has to be one of the most creative and refreshing music video of 2012. It seems like most videos these days tend to be chopped footage of old movies and over exposed washed out footage. Meet Adam Bainbridge the man behind Kindness. He has really got his music video game on point. In the video "House," Adam plays the role as a music critic discussing his love for pop music with a young boy whom he teaches how to play the drum machine, synthesizer and [...]

Kindness nos presenta el video de "House", su más reciente sencillo. En el video podemos ver a Adam Bainbridge enseñándole a Ramón, un niño de 11 años, cómo hizo la canción.
Watch the new video for Kindness 's song "House" below, taken from the album "World, You Need A Change Of Mind". I will be sorely disappointed if Kindness doesn't release an entire 15 disc boxset of instructional videos on how to dance like a boss, program drum machines, and wiggle your way into ladies' pants with your new-found synth skills.

This jam is near the top of my list for favorite songs of the year. It's melodic, layered, and passionate enough to pull at your heartstrings ever so slightly. Really though, you know you've got a winner when it can double as a good falling in love song and a breakup song at the same time (mood pending?). The video accompanying "House" is a clever mix of Adam Bainbridge talking about pop music then finding out which of his instruments sounds better to a younger kid. I've got to hand it to the lil' guy, he's [...]

Kindness plays critic to the pop world and teaches a kid to play his latest single 'House' from his well enjoyed debut project ' World , You Need a Change of Mind .' The visual is odd and adoring with us leading more towards the latter. Lp is available now.
I guess it's technically a music video.

If you've been watching the recent videos from Vice's Noisey channel then you'll know that kids - by far and away - make the best actors for music videos. In his new video for "House", Adam Bainbridge - aka Mr. Kindness - again shows us just how talented they are. continue reading >>
