We enjoyed The Big Pink 's album " Future This ," but the bigger lead singles unfortunately relegated the remainder of the songs to filler status. Opening their catalogue to producers and artists such as d'Eon, Araabmuzik , Forest Swords and King Krule has created an exciting EP from the ashes of an album that many will have already forgotten about. Future This has been given a much needed drop-kick back into the spotlight as each guest snatches their designated track and goes sprinting off on wildly varying directions, creating an overall wonderfully eclectic collection. It feels like ages since Zoo Kid made all of our hearts skip a beat (or two) with his striking debut single Out Getting Ribs (it actually is over a year and a half old already!) - since then the red-haired London'er changed his alias to King Krule and released a stunning 5-track EP on True Panther. He barely set foot on the European mainland apart from some gigs in France and Portugal, but the Botanique have invited him to play at their Les Nuits so go see this kid (he's only 18?!) perform live. [...]

Young up and comer King Krule has but his inimitably murky spin on "Weak Become Heroes" to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the release of The Streets stone cold classic Original Pirate Material album. Spacing out the beat a little, and adding his own verse, while keeping Mike Skinner's vocals intact, King Krule does a great job of bringing a wonderful track into today's grey city streets.

Tweet vaso link "Has This Hit" isn't a new track from King Krule per se , as it came out back in 2010 when he was still performing under the Zoo Kid moniker. But this version of the song, aged a couple of years and now recorded live in Brooklyn and Converse's Rubber Tracks studio, showcases Marshall's obvious talent, along with the band he plays with. The track is wise beyond Marshall's not-even-eighteen years lyrically, and displays [...]
King Krule performed this new song at the Mercury Lounge in New York City last week as part of the The Fader's Brooklyn Bound series. "Rock Bottom" stands out as one of my favorite King Krule tracks to date, and if you haven't yet heard 17-year-old Archy Marshall's impressive style of dub-influenced indie rock, I suggest checking out my latest podcast, which features the woozy anthem "Noose of Jah City."
Here's a live performance of "Portrait in Black and Blue" by King Krule via Yours Truly. The album version of "Portrait in Black and Blue" is from the mesmerizingly chilled King Krule EP , out now through True Panther Sounds —a prefect Sunday record!

It's still hard to believe that Archy Marshall aka King Krule is in fact so young. Still only 17 and he sounds like he's been through a war of emotions. In this live version, he demostrates what it is he does best, injected a loose and limber arrangement into a world-weary song that starts with "just another disappointed soul..". Archy certainly has an old soul. More impressively, he wrote this song as Zoo Kid when he 15. A video of another song and a interview follow...
