The Daily (Sept 28) The Daily is a new column which will be posted everyday here on LYFSTYL. We will highlight tracks that are currently making us weak at our knees. For the first post we have stunning tracks from Sohn, Major Lazors ft. J Cole, King Krule and Beacon. Every sunday we shall do another round up featuring all of our favourite tracks from the week.
There is something about the 17 year old King Krule.... We were one of the first to post a video of him on our Facebook page a few months ago and he has been growing on us ever since. His 17 year old vocals is not to be mistaken and fits perfect for the dark [...]

When King Krule hit the indie scene under the name "Zoo Kid" he raised more than a few eyebrows. Here was a red-headed 16 year old british kid playing dreary guitar moaning about when "hate runs through my blood." Something was weirdly appealing about his dejected tone. "Octopus" brings back a very similar feel with its jazzy, muffled sound. King Krule may have found a niche, let's just hope he can keep it. [...]

Why not check out some brand new music from King Krule which follows up the great sounding " Rock Bottom " that we heard in August. The track is the AA-Side to that and features some sensual saxophone work. I'm always open to a bit of saxophone if I'm being totally honest, I just wish I could play one. Although I probably wouldn't use my new found talent like this guy .

After the fantastic Rock Bottom , 17-year-old demi-god King Krule has released the record's A-side, Octopus . Like all Krule songs, it's uncompromising, structureless, initially underwhelming and, after a few listens, deeply mesmerising. Taking over a minute to kick into full gear, this one mixes his signature baleful, bottom-of-the-barrel vocals with yearning guitars and a starchy drum machine, before a heartbroken, tropical-sounding sax ties up the loose ends.
MAN, is it just too cold already or what? I know you might have noticed that a begin these little ... Continue reading
The A-side of young wunderkind King Krule 's new 73 for Rinse, "Rock Bottom," is one of our favorite tracks of the year, so whatever was going to show up on the other half of that vinyl had to be damn good - and it's "Octopus," and it is; good enough, in fact, to be designated an AA-side instead of relegated to B. It keeps in the same scatterbrained, adventurous vibe as "Rock Bottom," skipping from here to there, over gentle, windswept synth and guitar swells, rollicking saxophone, and skittering, jumpy drum machine. It's part Wild [...]

Last month, we unleashed the new King Krule A-side "Rock Bottom" – a vintage, skinny rocker – and now we get the other song from that single entitled "Octopus." From smooth atmospheric shades to blue guitars, saxophone wails and a jerky beat, the highlight remains Krule's very-unique voice. Get both tracks on the trusty 7-inch record format September 24 via Rinse .
King Krule is one of my favourite new acts around. It's that voice. How could those words come from someone so young - Krule is a teenager from London, real name Archy Marshall. 'Octopus' is the b-side on King Krule's forthcoming single, to be released on the Rinse label, which [Read more]

We’ve heard 1/2 of the upcoming King Krule double A side (in the minimal jazzy “Rock Bottom”), and now we can stream the other A side, “Octopus”. A haunting escape that really delivers a blow once the bass kicks on. Still can’t believe this guy was born in 1994. Octopus by King Krule Rinse will put out the double A side next week. Pre-order here .

So we finally get to hear the B Side to King Krule's single ' Rock Bottom' released September 24th on Rinse. Pre-order: http://amzn.to/NCuMep Normal 0 false false false EN-GB X-NONE [...]

We've already heard one half of King Krule 's upcoming double-A side in 'Rock Bottom,' but now we can stream the second track 'Octopus.' Once the bass kicks on in this gentle beast, it's pure bliss. Rinse will release 'Rock Bottom' with 'Octopus' on September 24th. Octopus by King Krule
A few weeks ago we heard Rock Bottom, the first new bit from young south Londoner Archie Marshall, and it ... Continue reading
Finally, some new King Krule to get down to. The youngster's 2011 self-titled EP was absolutely fantastic, I must say, but the sky is the limit for what is shaping up to be a true musical talent. I'm glad he sat most of the summer out, because his distant sound is not fit for anything but the cooler temperatures of the winter months. His latest tune, "Octopus", is the B-side to the already leaked " Rock Bottom ". Both songs that appear on the forthcoming single are more upbeat and groovy than prior Krule efforts, but that doesn't [...]

King Krule just dropped a track will be officially featured on his next project. “Octupus,” will be on the B-Side of the release coming September 24th. King Krule - Octopus

Wow, not bad for a B-Side eh? "Octopus" will be released alongside "Rock Bottom" on Rinse next week.

With " Rock Bottom ," the young King Krule turned up the tempo a little and sounded more energetic than usual. It seemed like he may just be moving in a new direction. With "Octopus," he puts those notions to rest, settling back into a brooding, moody, atmospheric sound.
Here's the b-side from King Krule 's new release Rock Bottom /Octopus . Will be out next week on September 24 via Rinse .

Photo by Christopher Alvarez Archy Marshall is growing up and along with that, appears to distancing himself from the twisted guitar compositions that brought him his relative prominence as Zoo Kid. When he indulged in atmospheric beats on his first release under his King Krule moniker, it seemed a puzzling-if welcome-departure from his initial output. Well, it would appear that Marshall is headed further down that path if "Octopus" is any indication. Leaving any pretension about pop songwriting behind, Marshall layers gobs of reverb onto the track and leaves the earth behind. With no [...]
