I was tired. The last twelve hours were spent pulling G's on, and driving to and from, the racetrack. All I wanted to do was take my shoes off, put on some music, kick back in the recliner and close my eyes. I pulled into the driveway and crawled out of the car. I carried my bags into the hallway and dropped them next to the front door. My racing jacket, shoes, helmet, gloves, pants and socks were left in a trail from the door down the hall to the kitchen. I opened the [...]

As usual for me, I spent the entire month of December posting holiday tunes. During that time a bunch of music was sent my way, but I haven't had a chance to pass any of it on - until now. Here's a quick round up of some of the best new songs that have been hanging out in my in box for the past month. Mutts' Pray For Rain has been growing on me more with each listen. I posted one track of theirs on my year-end [...]

ok. so some new music...there's been so much going on lately with festival announcements, awesome remixes, album releases, killer new leaked tracks. There's also been a lot of personal external factors (by that I mean, outside of the music industry). Uni is nearly finished, got one exam and a 4,500 paper due in the next few weeks as well as the research i'm doing as part of my internship with the Inspire Foundation . It's all just nuts. Keeping on top of it all is a little difficult, but yeah, in a few weeks, i'll be free!! Anyway, the [...]

Locking onto easily accessible melodies and lyricism that will likely inspire many "Beatles-esque"-focused critical write-ups once their debut EP arrives next year, Washington make it seem like the past forty years in music never happened, mastering this sunny simplicity in their sound that comes across as oh-so-refreshing during a time [...]

Listen to the songs of King Washington and you'll be whisked away to another time, when pop/rock was more for the songwriter rather than the producer. Listen to the southwest tinged harmonies that inundate "I Get By" and you'll hear a blatant reference to the lovable jams of the 70s. Likewise, "Live On" has that lo-fi gritty rock sound of that era, and a matching guitar solo. You can tell these guys like to sing, but they're also pretty decent musicians. And they've got that raw emotion that is so often lacking in the [...]
