![Album review: Air Waves - s/t - Catbird Records [release date: March 2008???]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/1893162_lg.jpg)
I don't know why I got this CD in the mail a few days ago because, according to Air Waves' MySpace page, it came out in March of 2008 . and is apparently sold out . Perhaps the blue cover, as opposed to the yellow sleeve I've seen around, indicates a rerelease? A pressing mistake? Or was this just clogged up in the mail for a year-and-change? [...]

When Kingdom was in town for the Night Slugs summer party last month I was luclky enough to convince him to come DJ back 2 back with me on my Sub FM show. There's no CDJs in Sushon studios (serato 4 lyf lol) but after a few retweets we were kindly accomodated by INVERTED AUDIO We were late to the session and had to rush setting up, so one deck would only play Serato and the other only CDs We were forced to play one track each, but this 1 for 1 [...]
When you're out celebrating your lives this weekend make sure to swing by Glasslands on Friday July 10th to celebrate Kingdom 's life as he celebrates his birthday with a special edition of Club Vortex. But if you don't know Kingdom you may feel more cause to celebrate his music. The New York producer has officially been snatched by A-Trak 's Fool's Gold Records for release of Kingdom's song "Mind Reader," featuring the singer Shyvonne , as well as his tune "You." Flown out for the [...]

Hype-Can Volume 6 may be one of the more cohesive entries into the "Trash In the Bassment" catalog , if not the hypest. Previous installments run on the eclectic side, doing many things at once in an amorphous melange of bass heaviness. I hope this one is shorter on motley and heavier on crew as recurring genres and sounds lace what is a particularly high-energy set of the best in bass from the month of June. Recorded in a live, one-take fashion by myself ( The Crooked Clef ), this critically-acclaimed [...]

Photo: Hobo Gestapo Please don't play these tracks on laptop speakers. It just isn't fair... The Cool Kids - Miami Beach (Hydroz Metro-Dade Bass Remix) [Miami Bass. Turn it up loud] Crazy Cousinz - Bongo Jam (L-Vis 1990 & Bok Bok's Refix) [Try giving this track a genre. It's impossible] Rico Tubbs - Boom Riddim (Sharkslayer Remix) [How many more songs can use the Meet Her At The Love Parade / Cream /cheesybanger [...]

("Kingdom" via Christopher Hewitt ) Fool's Gold just announced that they will be releasing a 123 from my personal favorite new producer, Kingdom . Hailing from Brooklyn, Kingdom makes some truly new, forward thinking music. It's an amalgamation of everything from Bmore Club, Trance, Juke, old school diva house and more. His single coming out on Fool's Gold, "Mindreader", is an instant classic, it's so infectious I've had kids mouthing the words 1 minute into the tracks. The record will also feature another hit song "You" that is equally catchy but more of [...]

Tonight Trixie and I will be guest deejaying Personality Crisis #6 @ Crash Mansion . This month sports a killer 5 band lineup with a full on night of rocking and dancing to be had. Telepathe - Devil's Trident from Christopher Chambers on Vimeo . I discovered Telepathe from Kingdom's remix of Chromes' On It . The first 'new band' I've been into in a very long time. Crazy how their sound palette is so in tune with the king of club music my ears are seeking out right now: 808s / toms / droning sawtooths / a celestial otherness.

The end of the 80's and the early 90's was a time when dance music was more than alive, it was the beginning of the pinnacle of rave culture. The italo-house group, Black Box , helped paved the way for the explosion of electronic dance music into the mainstream and top 40, with a little help from singer-songwriter, Martha Wash . Undeniably, Martha Wash made a massive impact on the music of Black Box, lending her powerful vocals on a number of their top hits, including their second single, "I Don't Know Anybody Else", off the Dreamland album. [...]

Brooklyn producer Kingdom will surely be one to look out for in 2009 with his versatile approach to the new breed of dance music, he's already the talk of fellow producers on both side of the pond + the Grindin fam. This is his remix of the Black Box jam "I Don't Know Anybody Else", on which he gives that Martha Wash sampling 90's hit an updated club flavor. (Thanks to Prince Money ) Black Box - I Don't Know Anybody Else (Kingdom remix) (YSI) [...]
Upstart Orlando melodic hardcore troupe Broadway will release its debut album Kingdoms July 7 via Uprising Records. Known for bringing in some of the rawest talent over the past 8 years, Lava , will play host to Brooklyn's own Kingdom , this coming Friday, May 15th, at Bouncement. A show I've been looking forward to for quite some time! We at TM have written about Kingdom a couple of times, one of which is an awesome, extended interview with Kingdom himself and the second, a follow up sharing an excellent Kingdom mix that I'm listening to as I write this. I'm a big fan of Kingdom; he has a [...]
This is yet another short but sweet post. This cut today is the first single off of the upcoming release Primary Colours by The Horrors . It's titled "Sea Within A Sea" and is just one great song. It goes eight minutes, but each time I listen, it seems like the first time I happen to look? It's already halfway through the track. As of now, this is the best cut I've heard this year. [Download The Horrors - Sea Within A Sea] [...]
MP3: Dom-Take It Easy Clevelander? Cleveleander? What the fuck do you call people from Cleveland? Well, Dom from Cleveland is down with Copywrite's ODOT Click. He just sent me Take It Easy produced by sometime gggg-unit producers Kickdrums. The beat is some smoother out cause I am stressed vibe. Lyrics are about how he likes drugs and not much else.

I am not a fan of American football, nor do I know much about Johnny Unitas. The only thing I know about him is that he's a significant figure in American football history, and oddly, that I can connect him musically and loop the connection back by a mere six degrees. Since it'll be an interesting mix, I thought I'd give it a go for this week's Friday list. Since this'll be a nicely looped six degrees - I'll start with a song that's directly related to our dear old football hero and bring it back with [...]

DOOM Screenshot This mix is the result of two things: 1) Some motherfucking cold-ass Budapest, Hungary weather and 2) Daydreaming of New York tropical Summer's and the parties that go along with them. And to no great surprise these parties are thrown by people like Taliesin and his Dutty Artz crew. Namely, at a party called, wait, " New York Tropical ": hosted by Dutty Artz family Matt Shadetek , Geko Jones , and Uproot Andy . Previous guests have included: DJ/Rupture , Bunny Rabbit , [...]

We slept on this exclusive mix from NYC producer Kingdom that he did for Bok Boks mighty Lower End Spasm blog, let's blame it on WMC. But now it's time to get our party on at tonights edition of The Rumble so what better way to get ready than with this amazing collection of raw, sweatfilled jams. Kingdom - Lower End Spasm mix (Mediafire) Tracklist after the jump. 01 - TIM DOLLA - Number Advisory 02 - KINGDOM - [...]
