There is no doubt that Scandinavian artists are currently at the forefront of the electronic and indie music scenes. The Knife, Bjork, Röyksopp and countless other major artists, musicians and djs have risen from the nordic states. In between these impressive names Denmark may appear to be a little out of step with its neighbours [...]

My obligatory "Favorite CDs of 20103 list was already published (with CD covers and links to videos/MP3s/etc) over at Donewaiting but in case you missed it ... Favorite CDs of 2010 1. The Dollyrots - A Little Messed Up 2. Blood Red Shoes -Fire Like This 3. Everest - On Approach 4. Tame Impala - Innerspeaker 5. Crystal Castles - Crystal Castles II 6. The Kissaway Trail - Sleep Mountain 7. Bad City - Welcome to the Wasteland 8. The Unwinding Hours - [...]

I have no interest in listening to anything by Kanye West . I'm probably missing the boat on The Black Keys . Surfer Blood , Sleigh Bells , Best Coast , The National , Arcade Fire all got cursory plays on the iPod but not enough to land them a spot on this list. I'd love to say that Superchunk made one of the most welcomed comebacks of 2010 but every time I hit the local indie record store, they were out of the CD and I never downloaded it [...]
After writing for TWJ for about a year now, I have mutated into a spider of the Interwebs. I creep across my familiar threads and pluck tasty morsels from the regular traps with ease. Now that I seem to be officially a blogger (*gasp*), I have become more of a "Song" fiend, who sees and [...]

Already receiving massive acclaim across the Atlantic, Denmark's The Kissaway Trail debuted their first USA long player in April 2010 with the release of Sleep Mountain . The band's first album sparked enormous excitement in the UK and Europe with England's The Independent having named their self-titled 2007 album "debut album of the year." Sleep Mountain was produced by Interpol and The National producer Peter Katis, who drew forth towering sound from the quintet. The Kissaway Trail is uniquely poised to make good on the promises made by their first album and prove themselves to [...]

30. The Courteeners 'Falcon' - What went down I don't know, but there's way more to these than first signalled. Superb. 29. Jónsi 'Go' - Sigur Rós' leading light turns out a stripped-down (for Sigur) endeavour. And it's all just as empowering. 28. The Drums 'The Drums' - The year's most-hyped sign over the goods. Who said guitar pop [...]

Well, it's been awhile! Hey...look what I mixed: Remember to Right Click/Save As on Cover Art to Download So, I grew up a Doug Flutie fan... sue me. He was the big Kahuna when I was in high school, and like many Eastern Massholes, I have a special affinity for our local athletes. What's that you say about Tom Brady? Yeah... suck bilge water, hater! Sorry... that was an unusual lack of decorum on my part. I [...]

I was in line waiting for admission into an amusement park. I'd been dragged there at the insistence of my friend, Todd, who had a disturbing infatuation with a rickety old roller coaster called the Mindbender. He was jumping up and down, chanting, "open, open!" Meanwhile, I rolled my eyes and stomped out a cigarette. The last thing I wanted to do was stand in line, over and over again, shuffled in with that segment of the human population who seem to perpetually have their shorts caught in the cracks of their ample haunches, kids on leashes, flip flops sloshing [...]
Denmark's five-piece, The Kissaway Trail author a brand of earnest indie pop that, despite one's personal musical leanings, is difficult to dislike (unless you write for Pitchfork that is). While it's nothing new, "SDP" is a track I only recently came across. The band formed in 2005, and has been around since despite a few [...]

Back in the dark, dim mists of time (oh ok then, April ), I mused away on some bad reviews Pitchfork had given two artists - Freelance Whales and The Kissaway Trail . The former had released one of my favourite records of the year , and the latter had piqued my curiosity thanks to a little (or rather quite long) tune named "SDP". Which, I have been reliably informed, is not about David Owen's lot. So, fast forwarding [...]

Just in from Denmark, The Kissaway Trail joined us for a two song session in Thompson Square Park in NYC. While performing "Sdp" and "New Lipstick", an excited group of onlookers enjoyed a free mini-show. Later that night, the band took the stage at Highline Ballroom with Wild Beasts , undoubtedly stealing the show. Head over to our videos page for all of our Buzzsessions. --> The Kissaway Trail on Facebook , Twitter , MySpace <--

On Wednesday night we stopped in to the Highline Ballroom to catch up with Wild Beasts as they visited New York yet again on the strength of their killer record Two Dancers . The band were joined by fellow Europeans Lone Wolf and The Kissaway Trail , and the night was full of intricate, moody music that was heavily suited to the painfully over-emo crowd. Lone Wolf frontman Paul Marshall started out the night performing solo (apparently he has a five [...]

After a gruelling journey we finally arrive at Latitude on Thursday evening and promptly manage to find the windiest spot on the site in which to pitch our tents. But at least its not raining, and save for a ten-minute early morning downpour on Saturday morning the weather remains beautiful for the duration of the festival. After finally getting the tents up and after a few campsite drinks we are ready to hit the arena to see what's on offer. In their wisdom the organisers have decided to put Tom Jones on in the woods on a tiny [...]
