You know a band is great when it can pull on several of the best musical threads of their time and still sound uniquely like themselves. The unfortunately-named Kissing The Pink left a pretty thin body of work, but it's all worth your time. I posted a track a while back , but I think they deserve a more than a little extra love, if only for the delightfully weird synth sound at the base of this song. Moody deliciousness. Standout track from the seminal Kissing The Pink . Well worth exploring all their output as there are some absolute gems to be found. Kissing The Pink - Big Man Restless (Long Version)

I'm not sure if today's tune should soundtrack propaganda films about the efficiency of Soviet factories or porno films starring cyborgs. Maybe it's the same movie? Kissing The Pink - Frightened In France
Everyone seems to be going on about the Big Pink these days. Though, if were going to compare groups with 'pink' in their name, I'd say 80's 'Kissing the Pink'... High quality download and some links hidden from RSS feed, click through to http://www.feelmybicep.com for full download

"Secret Oktober", the flip side of Duran's "Union of the Snake" is truly a buried gem, a song that would have considerably brightened the overblown and overly bloated "Seven and the Ragged Tiger" (perhaps replacing the unnecessary instrumental "Tiger, Tiger"?). "Secret Oktober" is basically Simon and Nick, vocals and synths, very much in the vein of "The Chauffer" off "Rio", a nice melody over a comparatively understated synth riff. It continues to be a big fan favorite to this day – I even saw them do it live in 1994 during the Cucurillo years, so it [...]
Kissing the Pink. Yes, that's totally what it means. Ahem. Now that we've dispensed with all that, Kissing the Pink formed in 1980 in London and never really broke through in a big way, either home or abroad. Their first album, "Naked" came out in 1983 and MTV picked up on the moody video for "Maybe This Day", a darkish new wave/funk number featuring a sax solo perfect for stripping. I haven't seen that video since (HELLO, VH1 CLASSIC PERSON WHO READS THIS BLOG [...]
On this Thanksgiving week edition, something for everyone, including fans of early nineties dance pop, seventies punk, and oldies where it totally sounds like the backup singers are saying 'poop chute.' If you like the music, go out and buy it, preferably at a real store that could actually use your money and preferably not on Friday because who wants to deal with that . These songs are only here until next week's mix goes up. (And if you're new to this site and don't get what's happening, click here and you might get your question answered.) [...]
