Saw this over at my buddies site Kitsune Noir . It was done for an episode of "Words" which is a series by one of my favorite radio shows Radio Lab . Directed by the amazing people at Everynone .

Dear readers, for the first part of yesterday I had completely forgotten that we were turning 2 but I soon realised we did. And boy, it could not have been celebrated better. 1. Completely unprepared and last-minute we interviewed Darwin (from Darwin Deez , obviously) before his gig - we talked about Dawson's Creek, anti-Hanson chatrooms & sexuality (lots of it). He is a lovely guy and the gig later that night proved to be absolutely AMAZING. Synchronized dancing is the best. This is the happiest I've felt during a gig this year, I couldn't [...]

I, unfortunately, have not had time to whip up a Halloween mix but some great bloggers and musicians are here to save the day. The five following mixtapes should be enough to keep your party going all night. And please tune in to UtahFM.org to hear me keeping it creepy from 9-10:30PM on Oct31. Plenty of horror film themes and other evil tracks to bring the house down. First up, Fever Ray has put together this exceptionally well crafted and appropriately themed mix of songs for Resident Advisor. Some have [...]

The Spacetime Collection is a set of whimsy outer outer space-themed wall decals co-curated by Kitsune Noir and Poketo. They enlisted a talented group of artists to design the collection; Mike Perry, Cody Hudson, Damien Correll, and Andy Miller. Each set is different, but the idea is to combine them to make any kind of wall galaxy that you want. I spent my morning pasting up the decals and my galaxy is displayed above. This was extremely fun; just pasting things every which way and creating something wacky on the [...]

No, Kitsune Noir is not the Kitsuné as we know it. No label that brings out compilations for hipsters but a blog that talks about art mostly. And pretty things. The best thing about this blog though, is the Wallpaper Project . Each Wednesday a new wallpaper by an illustrator/graphic designer/... is featured. Seeing all these beauties makes me think I'll have to change my desktop image every day or something. There's so much good stuff to choose from! I really can't pick a favourite so you'll have to look for yourself. Here's two examples [...]

The Fartz were Duff McKagan's pre-GNR hardcore band from Seattle. Duff played drums. They SUCKED. Belinda Carlisle (the Go-Go's) played drums in The Germs VERY briefly. The Nips were Shane MacGowan's pre-Pogues band. Not sure what to call it, but they're probably drunk. I called this playlist "heavy" at first because I intended to fill it with metal, but my IMEEM ADD took over and now it's all very loosely based around California hardcore. You probably won't enjoy this at work. Or really at all. Er...uh......enjoy...? [...]

From the upcoming album Bromst , due March 24 on Carpark Records. This sounds just like old Dan Deacon only it has live drums. So yeah. Here it is. The comic is an installment of Techno Tuesday by Andy Rementer . Song via P'fork . Comic via Kitsune Noir . [...]

One of my daily stops is always to the art blog Kitsune Noir . Besides the cool art, Bobby (the writer) also adds some incredible mixtapes. Today he is giving away one he created titled Swedish Fish . The mixtape was inspired by female, Swedish singers even though not all the artists are ladies nor Swedish but that's the overall vibe of it. "Swedish Fish" | download Tracklist: 01. Skinny Dip by Polyphonic Spree 02. Blueberry Tree Part [...]
