Following South by Southwest, it appeared as if everyone suddenly kicked off tours everywhere. Chicago's Metro hosted some fabulous gigs (e.g. Wild Flag, Porcelain Raft), New York exploded with buzz bands, and California offered up two unique festivals (Paid Dues, Coachella). Our photographers snapped shots night after night, making April one of our busiest months on the live circuit in a long, long time. Naturally, they had a blast. Event: Wild Flag at Chicago's Metro (4/5) Photographer: Michael Roffman What Michael Says: "It [...]

In the midst of a six-stop tour to promote their second album, Smoking in Heaven , San Francisco was Kitty, Daisy & Lewis ' last U.S. stop before the trio embarks on a series of shows in Ireland. The small scale of their tour is indicative of the band's still-underground status - but personally, I hope they stay that way. Kitty, Daisy & Lewis are somewhat of an enigma, proof that musical talent may be part nature, part nurture. They're each bred with husky, lilting voices, and are uniquely multi-instrumentalists: between the three of them, they interchangeably play [...]

Welcome to FWBA's best-of 2011. This has been such a meaningful year in music to me that it's tough to represent in one post. I'm going to be honest, this took me quite a long time. I wanted to do this year justice because personally, it was a total dream: living in San Diego working with some of my favorite artists, going to SXSW and Lollapalooza, seeing Dave Bazan in stranger's living rooms, Feist play a hometown show, saw tune-yards electrified show at Soda Bar clocking in as one of my favorite performances, watching Zach Rogue and my boyfriend playing [...]

It's the weekend, it's nice outside, I'm taking my little brother shopping for some new shoes. Kitty Daisy & Lewis ' Smoking in Heaven record will be my weekend jam. I love these guys. Kitty, Daisy and Lewis- Don't Make a Fool Outta Me Watch the video for the track here.

New album from Kitty, Daisy & Lewis entitled "Smoking In Heaven" will be released October 25th and is a very cool collection of ska, classic R&B, blues and rock 'n' roll. Set for an October 25th release on Verve Forecast / DH Records, "Smoking In Heaven" is not only an exciting, self-penned studio album of original material that delves in and out of genres and displays a penchant for multiple styles and tempos, it represents Kitty, 18, Daisy, 22, and 20-year-old Lewis's evolution [...]

There are 2 major music festivals on the Isle of Wight. The first, is referred to by locals or 'caulkheads' as they are sometimes known as simply 'The Festival.' The second as 'The Bestival.' There's a big observational hint in the names as to which one is superior. Exciting, eclectic, eccentric, Bestival (to give it its proper name - there is no 'The') is undoubtedly Breaking More Waves favourite festival in the UK. Rob Da Bank's crazy village fete / rave / gig on the [...]

Set for an October 25, 2011 release on Verve Forecast / DH Records, Smoking In Heaven , the new album from the multi-instrumental three-piece band Kitty, Daisy & Lewis , has been catching the attention of many worldwide for what the UK Times raves "is infused with so much energy, freshness and standard teenage moaning." Going on to say "these songs take on the style and language of classic R&B, blues and rock 'n' roll tunes from New Orleans, Memphis and Chicago" with a genuine authenticity. As with all of the tracks on their [...]
Kitty, Daisy & Lewis - 2FM / Hot Press Academy Saturday afternoon and Oxegen is hitting a bit of a lull. To the right we have Plan B, to the left Bruno Mars - where to go for something a little more, shall we say, interesting. The answer is the Academy stage where Kitty, Daisy & Lewis are thankfully bringing a dash of history, glamour and spark to the day. They arrive, not exactly to the pleasure of a few and the interest of others. They leave to a mass of cheers. What happens inbetween is [...]
After an impressive but sparse Friday, Saturday had a lot to live up to but spirits were raised as Punchestown basked in glorious sunshine, a rare occurrence in recent years. Away from the sunshine was Belfast 5-piece Cashier No.9 who were wooing punters in the Heineken Green Energy tent with their brand of shimmering indie. [...]
They treated us to one of our favourite sets at Oxegen yesterday, but before that the mighty Kitty, Daisy & Lewis were in the 2FM studios with Dave Fanning for an interview and live track...

There was a heavy air of anticipation amongst the wonderfully retro bedecked boys and girls gathered at a sold out Art Centre, eagerly awaiting Kitty Daisy & Lewis. Having myself had a brief dalliance in the early 802s into the world of psychobilly, I was transported back via the flat tops and big hair clips. For many people this seemed to be an occasion to dress up and express themselves, and I was amazed at the vast difference in ages from teenagers through to a good few people who must of been eligible for a bus pass. [...]
As has now become tradition, we have been polling State's marvelous team of writers and photographers as to their favourite albums of the first half of 2011. Over the week ahead we'll bring you the top 25, kicking off with some old style rock 'n' roll, imaginative stadium rock, strange pop, a US band mellowing and a bloke with a high voice... 25. Kitty Daisy & Lewis - Smoking In Heaven "It kicks like a mule and slaps you in the face with just the right amount sass..." Review [...]

The evolution of Kitty, Daisy and Lewis from front room jammers to critically lauded professionals has been an expeditious one. Since their beginnings, the talented trio have released an acclaimed debut album as well as numerous singles, secured themselves a cult following and supported none other than Coldplay on their U.S tour. This year has seen more exciting developments with the band including the release in May of their hotly anticipated second studio album "Smoking in Heaven." Kitty, Daisy and Lewis are also excited to announce that on June 27th they will be releasing a standout single from [...]
my least fave choon of the KITTY, DAISY & LEWIS ' latest LP gets the visual treatment. and the MESSING WITH MY LIFE video also ain't anything to write homo bout. wotyougot

With the release of their much vaunted debut, Kitty, Daisy & Lewis stirred up some forgotten dust as they regaled audiences with a strikingly authentic rockabilly sound. Fans of older music styles like R&B, swing, and roots praised the album for it's nostalgic feel, while contemporary music lovers were simply refreshed by its shameless retro quality. Even Chris Martin was impressed, as he hand picked the band for Coldplay's 2009 US Tour. Riding in the formidable wake of that first effort, Kitty, Daisy & Lewis manage to raise the bar yet again with the follow up, Smoking [...]
