Gainesville producer Kodak To Graph is jealousy-inducingly good. Everything Michael Maleki's put his name to so far, from ' Departure ' to breakthrough from 2 years back, 'I Keep Holdin On ', is a lesson to all fledging electronic types on how to do it right, how to get a balance between nostalgia-led beats and the sound of the beautiful future. New free download 'Rakshasa', which features vocals from Monsoonsiren, pretty much does sound exactly like a siren sounding out alongside the sight of a monsoon, rain pouring mercilessly on steaming concrete. Mp3: Kodak To Graph - Rakshasa (feat. Monsoonsiren)

Hello everyone! The photo above is a crane I saw at Canary Wharf in London. ( download the high res version ) Not sure why I picked it today, it just felt right. Things have been a mess around here lately because @DorothyJS and I have been travelling so much. So my apologies for the weak performance. Sometimes work, travel, and having fun get in the way of running this website. Back in the day when only a few of you we're listening it didn't matter. But now that there are thousands of people listening each [...]

I’ve noticed in our remodeling that there is a void in my inbox where some tracks don’t quite fit the Shorthanded Goals mold, yet they don’t quite require or elicit a full feature. Basically, they are great tracks – I just can’t find the words or time to praise and describe. I’ve thought about this and I figured why not post up a little segment where I can quickly run through the tracks that caught my ear but didn’t quite catch my tongue…Red Lights to make you slow and stop what you’re doing to [...]

Kodak To Graph is Michael Maleki from Gainesville, Florida. "Aurescent" is the newest output, a beautiful electronic puzzle, bleeps and sparks around a smooth piano, reminding us to the beginnings of Four Tet.

Here's the second chapter of our "Holy Sounday" series! This week we have n u a g e s, Kodak to Graph, Hominidæ, Bonobo, and Before Hibernation. As usual all these tracks are dreamy and peaceful. Without a doubt that these smooth packages are one of our best "inventions." All these tracks makes us feel very proud of our "work," basically because it makes us search for unknown producers and have the chance to find beautiful productions from people that clearly deserve more attention. Once again, here's the perfect soundtrack for a peaceful Sunday... [...]

I swear I had about 3 nightmares last night, it was relentlessly horrible and now I wake up and everyone's playing April Fools tricks, no news is safe, I don't know what to believe anymore. Hence why i'm easing myself into Monday morning...i'm taking it easy, no hectic guitars, no frenetic beats just very relaxing music. In retrospect the ending of the Radiohead remix isn't exactly pacifying but it is cathartic...cathartic will do to. Dan

When writing about music, I resist the temptation to define a song as "simply beautiful." In the case of these five tracks, however, I can't think of a a more concise description. Each song exists between ambient, electronic chill and soul-stirring melodic pop, with its own story to tell. Collectively, you're taken on a powerful, ethereal journey. A human presence retains its place, sometimes face to face, sometimes wavering in the memory; regardless, it only benefits the intangible air. After listening to these five songs, you'll feel a sense of desire, sadness, helplessness, power. Hopefully this [...]
