For those of you locals here in Denver, I hope that you've picked up your bracelet for the UMS last night. If not, don't fret, you still have three days left. Lots of great music to be seen. I'm going to attack the festival a little different this time. I'm going to get around via bicycle from venue to venue. I'm stoked for the Illeterate Gallery Saturday afternoon. Look at their schedule and tell me you don't wanna camp out all day?! Katy Perry // Mord Fustang-T.G.I. [...]

Konnichiwa = Cryosphere Konnichiwa has somehow slipped through my finger until now. It's sounds like if Alex Winston wondered into Tron 1982 and got a little weird. But in a good way. Rainbow Body Records released their debut album Visions back in March, and it's full of these space disco synth jams. You can also head to there soundcloud to check out some more off their album. And stay [...]

Konichiwa is like your friend who wears a half dozen too many accessories. If that was you, you know, you'd probably take most of those off. Maybe just the pink headband? Or those electric green bracelets? But, you know, the thing about her is that she wears all that shit together. She goes for it. And maybe that is actually kind of cool? And actually you are kind of a coward? Which is to say that this is a new song from Konichiwa, " Cryosphere ," which is pretty great. Listen or download [...]

Från New York-duon Konnichiwa s debutalbum Visions vilket finns ute nu genom Rainbow Body Records Konnichiwa - Cryosphere
This Konnichiwa record is out today. NYC eastern-tinged 802s italo disco heaven. The woman singer is unpredictable and reminds me a bit of some Gang Gang Dance stuff. I'm really enjoying the vintage synth work on this album. "Maiden China" = made in china = globalization? what's this song about? orientalism? Here's another:
Japan. I was there. In Tokyo in November. I didn't want to leave. I met so many great people. Received so much love and hospitality. Now they're going through it. They need support and they need aide. While I'm happy to know that my family and friends there are safe, still their lives and countless others have been affected tremendously. While we're still finding out if there are ways we can directly help all of those folks that so graciously hosted us during our stay, we intend on doing something this month with Bondfire. Not [...]

Apply super-conducting electrodes to an amalgamation of 1980s memories, then run the output through an open source game engine to recreate a poetic teenage bedroom decorated with images of obscure divas, a chunky stereo system, and a large mirror. Insert Konnichiwa into the tape deck, press play, and let your super-eye-lined avatar dance through the night. "China Maiden" taps into the same well of esoteric pop wonder as The Knife did in their glimmering, pre- Silent Shout incarnation , while varnishing it with trebly Freestyle paraphernalia. An avalanche of [...]

DOWNLOAD MP3: Konnichiwa - "Celestial Navigations" Konnichiwa made their way into the blogosphere a few weeks back with their retro-meets-futuristic video offering for a track named "Madein China". Today, I have the pleasure of bringing you a fresh track premiere of a number entitled "Celestial Navigations" which also serves as the album opener on their forthcoming full-length debut effort Visions, due out on March 22 via Rainbow Body records . The name of the cut sums up the direction of the album, with sci-fi leanings and space explorations playing [...]

Last Friday, your 20jazzfunkgreats explorers slipped into a sensory deprivation chamber connected to a High Definition TV set and flicked between BBC's factual psyche-scientific repertoire and bouts of carnage in the windswept taigas of the Hellghast world. The unlikely collision of theoretical physics and relentless headshotting released a myriad diminutive particles which were meticulously collected with a butterfly catcher, and rearranged over the surface of the basilisk-footed coffee-table, smidgens of a theory that explains the nature of the vibes that we bring to you on a daily basis (approximately). The deal is thus: We are a holographic projection [...]

A few days ago we dropped the video for Konnichiwa ' s 'Maiden China' from their début album 'Visions'. We've had a chance to listen to the full album now, and it's pretty special. The thing I like about Konnichiwa is their points of reference. Most 80's inspired acts draw their influences from Europe, particularly England (and being English, I do hear a lot of it!) whereas Konnichiwa, although defiantly an 80s SynthPop influenced duo, produce a sound more akin to the Electronic Pop that came out of the US in the 80s, [...]

Here is the video for Konnichiwa 's track, 'Maiden China', form their forthcoming début full length album 'Visions'. The album is out on Rainbow Body in March and as you can see from the video you can expect some 80s inspired ElectroPop with suitable industrial overtones. Even the video has that 80's EBM feel to it but all wrapped up in quirky Pop package. 'Visions' is out 22nd March. Konnichiwa @ 7Digital [...]
Click here to view the embedded video. The boy/girl duo Konnichiwa have a full-length debut entitled Visions set to drop on March 22 via the delightful Rainbow Body records . "Maiden China" is the first track to emerge off the new album and it comes backed with a hyperreal, virtual reality enthused joyride in the form of a video which was created by D.V. Caputo - 1/2 of the duo. In it, the two end up traveling through a fictional orbit via warped VHS quality footage that draws its influences off [...]
From New York, arrives Konnichiwa in all its quirky electronic glory. Consisting of Kaela Noel and D.V. Caputo, there is something about their obsession with the oriental that fascinates me. The lilt in the girl vocals remind me of early 1960s Hong Kong cantonese opera songs from black and white films of that era. Throw in the 80s synth stabs and you get quite an interesting landscape of sound there. I just hope the geolocation is not lost on all of this Check this track, I like it: [ [...]
Kaela Noel and D.V. Caputo A.K.A. Konnichiwa are a New York based duo who make some retro sounding, reverb heavy, ElectroPop. Having met as teenagers in art class they started swapping mixtapes and eventually began making music. There is something really refreshing about Konnichiwa's take on ElectroPop, they've got the 80's move soundtrack basslines and arpeggios of Dreamwave but their effects heavy drums and toy synth leads lines give then a completely fresh sound. ♫ Konnichiwa – Constellations (zShare) (MediaFire) ♫ Konnichiwa [...]
Konnichiwa Konnichiwa are a New York duo that makes totally enjoyable and charismatic old-school electro-pop. Keep your ears peeled for these guys in the future I suspect. Konnichiwa - Manahatta ( mp3 )
