Quite bonkers, so much so that I’ve chosen to create a new category called Bonkers Pop to accommodate it. The it comes from an elusive Pittsburgh combo who appear to have a prolific enough demeanour but at the same time don’t seem all that arsed if anyone takes note of their sequences of sound. This psychedelic swirl arrived in 2011 and is a nice starting point in your march towards weighing up their relative worth. It bleeps and beguiles while offering the sweetest of just out of reach vocals. I’ve be tethering on posting it for months but after a [...]

One of the cool things about space is how everything is floating all over the place. There is no gravity and you're simply weighed down by nothing, nothing at all. Now picture yourself in space with different genres of music floating all around you and no restrictions to what you can do with it. This bazaar vision is what Korea In The Space is all about. Korea In The Space are 3 college students who got their name through a misheard lyric in a Quasimoto song. They've been friends since high school and their music productions [...]

Here’s some new stoned, psychedelic, mashed-up electronic folky-pop music from trio Korea in the Sound. The track’s called ‘Hi’ and is taken from the band’s forthcoming album, ‘Second Head’, which is out on October 25. Listen to it here: ‘Hi’

I listened to this late last night and wasn't sure if I'd like it again in the morning. I thought it was one of those times where everything I open up I enjoy (happens, like, every night...bad news for blogging), but, in this case, I'm still in like. Thankfully. "Hi" is not quite like any song I've ever heard before, and it's astounding to me that Korea in the Space is three college students. Experimental; atmospheric; weaving in and out of a dream with pretty female vocals vs. brash male vocals for reality. Give them a whirl, but [...]
As band names go, Korea in the Space sounds like a bad translation. They claim that it "could be a reference to Chick Corea's Inner Space (1968), but really they just misheard a lyric in a Quasimoto song." As band sounds go, the trio of college kids have found a sweet spot between fried white boy hip hop beats and cushy Panda Bear coos, fusing what often sounds contrived into a mellow and warped little composition called "Hi". We like. Korea in the Space, "Hi"...

This psychedelic lo-fi number comes courtesy of the elusive and bizarrely named Korea In The Space . With the summer weather seemingly well and truly behind us, let Velvet Hands transport your consciousness to a tranquil, sandy beach, complete with somnolent palm trees and the imperceptible hum of the harmonious ocean. Reverb laden vocals, reminiscent of Panda Bear dominant the antecedent section of the track, whilst midway through the vocals fade out and the addictive guitar-drum combo takes the wheel. Stream and download Velvet Hands below, and oh, if you happen across any [...]
Enticingly fuzzy and attractively psychedelic, Korea in the Space has been delivering a dreamy mish-mash of sounds to a growing number of fans. While their presence on the web is minimal at best,... Listen At BIRP!
