Myspace // "Barricades" (Rough Demo) [mp3] It's those things that you can't control that anger us the most, even trivial things like bands breaking up. There are those bands out there that should break up and when they do, you're glad that they did. On the other hand, when you become invested in an exciting new band only to have them call it quits before they actually follow through on their promise, these are the times when you are understandably gutted. [...]
10. The White Stripes - Icky Thump. The ninth album of the year... Coming from Newcastle (or Gateshead. Or Tyneside. Or Sunderland. I'm not good with The North), Kubichek! are probably the best band with an ! in their name ever. And while that may sound like damning with faint praise, remember that they are up against [...]
as could be every other night, but I don't have class today and tomorrow not until 6pm, which makes it kinda reasonable to do an evening post. Atleast it does in my mind. I wish I could promise to have Tuesday nights as constant mix nights, but there's a huge possibility of failure, so I don't promise... before I disappoint my non-existing readers -haha. Anyway, this is simply a random 9 song

I meant to post this weeks ago. Life has been hectic. Hectic but good. Enjoy. 01. New Ruins - " Book Lung ". One of those songs where the music (haunting) mimics the lyrics (" Your ghost still walks all around these hills... "). | Myspace | Purchase 02. Eastern Conference Champions - " The Box ". Reminds me of the anthemic moments of Hope of the States , but better. " And I've got nothing to complain about... " | [...]

Last Night's show was supposed to start at 8:30 @ the Echo . But the case wasn't the time nor venue. Due to serious technical/crapped systems & stuff not working, the show moved downstairs to Echoplex, begun around 10:30 ! The Echoplex is such a sweet venue and you can tell by the seating, larger stage, & the clean bathrooms! (unheard of). Here are some pic of the show. Kira Kira , Caroline , and Tom Brosseau opened with [...]

I'm yet to find a review about Kubichek! that doesn't mention Maximo Park or The Futureheads. It's understandable, I suppose. All three bands are from the north-east of England, not exactly renowned for being a breeding-ground of great new bands. Listening to Kubichek!'s debut album 'Not Enough Night', you can hear elements of their more famous mates' sound - 'Outwards' and 'Taxi' are radio-friendly, punchy guitar-driven tunes, songs like 'Hometown Strategies' and 'Method Acting' are all chorus-heavy and anthemic. And in ' Nightjoy ' they already have a certified dancefloor slayer. [...]

It's kind of an informal agreement between us here at Audiversity that we take Mondays off so we can deliver the rest of the week. I try to hold up my end of the bargain, but last week was a mess. Between school and Valentine's Day and writer's block, life, as they say, got in the way. Writer's block? Like, who on a blog gets that? Seems easy enough to just bang out three reviews a post two or three times a week, know what I mean? There's so much out there, it should be easy to whip something into [...]
