Recorded for Japan is a compilation album containing songs recorded between April and June 2011 to aid the victims of the earthquake, resulting tsunami, and nuclear emergency that happened on March 11th, 2011 in Japan. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this compilation will go directly towards the continuing recovery and reconstruction effort, specifically the Japanese Red Cross. The album features the contributions of Acrylics, Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, Beige, Chairlift, Erika Spring, Ice Choir, Kurt Vile, K. Heasley, Kuroma, Pablo Picasso, Patrick Cleandenim, Regal Degal, R. Stevie Moore (feat. Members of MGMT), and Violens. [...]
Kuroma is the creation of Athens, Ga based Hank Sullivant, founding bassist of The Whigs and former touring guitarist with MGMT . A psychopomp – literally, a "leader of souls" – is a creature responsible for navigating the recently deceased to the great beyond. Serving as the pop afterlife's very own psychopomp, Sullivant invites us on a psych-inspired, pop-fueled, celestially exhausting journey in which we are led from conscious to unconscious realms – and back again – on Kuroma's aptly titled Psychopomp LP, slated for release later this Summer. In "The [...]

What was supposed to be a small gig on a Wednesday night at Emo's Inside sold enough tickets to warrant a move outside. Tame Impala with Stardeath and White Dwarfs and Kuroma was going to be out in the cold. I, for one, was happy with the move thinking the show wouldn't be terribly crowded, but I was wrong. Quite a draw. Read on for more... I was a bit late to the doors as a friend and I had to catch up over a few beers at Casino. When [...]

Date Wednesday, December 1st Location Emos Doors 900p Tickets $10 from TicketWeb Unless you've been hiding out this year, you surely are aware of the great storm that has spread concerning Australian group Tame Impala . Their blend of psychedelic rock with various texturizing layers has won over every single writer here in the States, and deservedly so, [...]
Tame Impala's latest release "Innerspeaker" is already placing high on our year's best and now the band has just released their video for 'Lucidity'. The band will be in town on December 1st at Emo's with Stardeath and White Dwarfs and Kuroma. They are playing inside which is pretty shocking. I would expect this to either get moved to the larger stage or sell out. Get on it.
(photo by Teapot) Tame Impala's debut full-length InnerSpeaker, released in June, is filled with spacey, proggy, super fun tracks and doses of ecstatic rock 'n' roll. You can get your tongue on that pill this fall as the Aussie three-piece head on over to North America in November, sharing stages with Stardeath And White Dwarfs [...]
![[EP] "Paris", Kuroma](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2344927_lg.jpg)
Posts relacionados: [Video] "Dancers", Circlesquare [Video] "Violet eyes", My Gold Mask [Video] "Undercover Martyn", Two Door Cinema Club

On Wednesday night, MGMT (along with opening acts Kuroma and Suckers) played a homecoming concert at The Bandshell in Prospect Park. When I first saw them on October 30 at Webster Hall, I got the impression that they were timid rock stars, not yet comfortable with their impending stardom (although it might have been because their faces were obscured by gigantic mariachi hats). Eight months later, the band blossomed, particularly frontman Andrew VanWyngarden (above, right). His newfound dynamism had him moving around the stage, interacting with his band mates, and even talking to the audience. [...]

So, here we are. Remix After All has arrived (well, in parts...). Any enterprising person could now run around the ten participating blogs (peek below) and snap up the full album. I'm telling you though, just wait. For tomorrow, each blog involved with this project will be posting the album in all it's glory, at 320 kb/s as a zip. Individual download links at 320 will also be available... Let's get down to business. We chose someone fantastic to remix 'Robot Rock', our song choice. And that person is.... Immuzikation . We were really confident in his [...]
Last night's show was hosted by a Justice League-like collection of artist from Green Label Sound . Matt and Kim , Kuroma, Cool Kids and Flosstradamus were all on board as well as videos from Doves, Silversun Pickups , Riverboat Gamblers and Passion Pit. It's all here for you incase you spent last night doing something (or someone?) your mother would disapprove of?

Kuroma is a band more people should be writing about in the near future. Our good buddy Aaron introduced us to them a few weeks back and w've been digging them ever since. Kuroma is a project of Hank Sullivant, a former member of The Whigs and one-time touring guitarist of MGMT . While a member of The Whigs, Sullivant recorded a number of trippy, psychedelic-influenced demos, including a number of tracks that would ultimately find their way onto the Kuroma release Paris . After leaving [...]
Help, I'm Alive (Immuzikation B-ting Like a Hammer Remix) (Link 2) Oh wow. It's 11:30 already? Bed calls to me, but I must keep going... we are on to a good thing I feel. I have to give a quick shout-out to my friend Alfredo, aka Immuzikation. His incredible mash-ups have been troubling the hype machine for what seems like years, but Alfredo is now pursuing something altogether different and even more incredible. A Daft Punk Tribute. Yes. Take it in. And before you worry of how he will destroy their hits, [...]
