Hey guys, It's NiteShade again, bringing you some wicked tracks today that I have picked up during my absence. Expect a more Halloween-esque feel to them as its, well, a day away from Halloween. Since I'm 17, I wont be trick-or-treating ever again, but that doesnt mean i wont wear a makeshift costume to scare the hell out of TPers and Eggers who dare cross my sight. Oh, and I'll still be getting candy too out of this so I'm good with no ToT. If you guys have any interesting ideas to deal with egg trolls and the TP Brigade, [...]

Stay TOONed! Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip [...]

Its been a fairly busy week for me and slow as far as digging for new music goes so I'll keep this short. Here is a track that has been around for a bit but always a treat to the ears whenever it comes up on a random playlist. This is LA Priest's "Engine" the Erol Alkan Transonic Re-Edit. LA Priest Myspace Erol Alkan Myspace MP3: LA Priest - Engine (Erol Alkan's Transonic Re-Edit)

it's definitely true that the 'indie' band's hold on the 21st century has subsided however, there are a few bands and groups that continue to persevere in a synth heavy, youth scen e. 'egyptian hip hop' are a group that have really caught my interest recently, mainly though their affiliations with samuel eastgate (lead singer of 'late of the pier' and the brain behind la priest). their loose, carefree style of 'electro-pop' has lasting power and [...]

Egyptian Hip Hop are a young four-piece who are are not from Cairo and don't make rap. Who would of thought? Instead, the much-touted yet very young Mancunians make burgeoning..., well it's almost too early to tell really, but you can include an impressive ability to explore synths, off-kilter guitar music and post-punk rhythms. 'Heavenly' is the best thing they've done so far but the 12 minute experimental Battles-esque collaboration with LA Priest 'Nifeo' is just as interesting in concept. Like with any young band worth their salt these days, the drummer has delved [...]

Recently I realised how I've only really been posting banging, dirty electronic tracks. I thought to myself, what about the electronic tracks which I listen to and give me that uplifting feeling which isn't brought up by obscene drops and dirty synth sounds. So I thought I'd share the more relaxing side of electronic music with you which have been a huge part of my listening. Shinichi Osawa - Main Street Electrical Parade Borerline cheesy but actual electronic genius. The [...]

ACID ACID ACID The god that is erol alkan has, this year, surprised and amazed both dance and alternative music critics with his side project and band beyond the wizard's sleeve . alkan and bandmate richard norris combine to create pieces that reconstruct the psychedelia of the 70's using a unique mixture of musical know how and technical wizardry. they have also been known to put layer [...]

I think I can speak for both of us when I say that we are so surprised and flattered that a lot of you musicians out there send us stuff for review. However with the mostly 1post/day speed we can't keep up with it and usually we can't do more. Now is a special day and I'm gonna start with Mr. Vega and move through the stuff I like. It's not gonna be the newest tracks but who cares? Brooklyn's Jay Vega has already appeared here with the edits of Justice and The Kills [...]

Last week, I had written and posted a More Music Monday #29 already, with LA Priest in it, but due to some server issues, the webhost had to reinstall a backup of my website which, unfortunately deleted that post. So now I'm reposting the LA Priest thing again... LA Priest is the electronic side-project of Late of the Pier singer Samuel Eastgate. The guy's pretty busy - besides being the singer [...]

Everybody is back from visiting their families and it's time to kick it back into gear and listen to some new music, I believe. Things are always a little dead the last month and a half or so of the year, since not many things are released this late, but that doesn't mean there aren't new bands making music. LA Priest is the electronic side-project of Late of the Pier singer Samuel Eastgate. LOTP have been doing [...]

Besides having cool glasses, Erol Alkan knows how to get you dancing. His new remix of 'Engine' by LA Priest is at the same level of his crazy remixes of Justice and Hot Chip. I have been crushing on it for a week and a half now. Check it: LA Priest - Engine (Erol Alkan's Transonic Re-edit) He also has a remix of Interpol's 'Mammoth' on his myspace .
Sometimes we have to hold our breath while typing. It's not that the Pinglepad smells especially bad (not always) it's just a rare day when we're cable of doing more than one thing at a time. So it's either breathing............or blogging
