Who are Lady Danville you ask? Well in musical terms, they're the perfect mix between the Local Natives and oldschool Death Cab. It's the type of music you share with your lady friend when she thinks you're lacking emotional depth. This indie-pop trio hail from Los Angeles and following the events of a terrifying car wreck earlier this year became inspired to write the songs that would eventually make up their 3-track EP entitled "Operating". Keep an eye out for these babes in the future, they're going places. [...]

Lady Danville - Kids (MGMT Cover) by ladydanville "i thought this wouldn't hurt a lot, i guess not..."
Lady Danville, a three-piece out of Los Angeles, took a potentially life-altering event and did what any good band should do with that kind of inspiration: they made wonderful music with it. The band - who toured last year with Jack's Mannequin, Ben Folds Five and Guster - was in an accident near the end [...]

Get another taste of the band's stellar Operating EP . Also get wet. And young. And sexy. You'll see.

Los Angeles indie pop trio Lady Danville craft delectable slices of pop rock, the sort you'd probably throw on a mixtape to your long distance girlfriend. In support of their Operating EP, the band has put together a video for their driving, harmony-laden track, "Better Side". Getting old sucks. It's an old adage every parents bitches about, but it's something everyone pretty much agrees upon. In the video for "Better Side", the sunny trio ape a little from 19832s Twilight Zone: The Movie , specifically Steven Spielberg's "Kick the Can" segment, and follow [...]

Tweet vaso link Los Angeles outfit Lady Danville sound like they might make effete indie pop, but their brand of piano-laced rock has decidedly more balls than I gave it credit for when I saw their name. It's not in the same vein as Ben Folds Five (who the band has opened for already), but their sound is still a solid one. Their track, "Operating," is from their three-song EP of the same name which was released yesterday. It [...]

First Monday of a new month, and you know what that means: new residencies. But first: ► Youngblood Hawke , Lady Danville and Useless Keys team up for a Pablove Foundation benefit at the Satellite, whose February residents, Milo Greene, don't get started until next Monday. Above is the video for Youngblood Hawke's "Burning Down" (as remixed by London producer Meck), featuring actress Angela Trimbur. ► Good stuff at It's a School Night at Bardot: LA Font headlines, the New Division and [...]

The moment Lady Danville's "Operating" came on my shuffle this morning, I knew it was going to be a feel-good Friday. Since that moment, I've perfectly balanced my Halo slaying with the cleaning I promised myself I would do today. Success (and sword base) never tasted so sweet. Be sure to drop some love on the band's facebook page , and remember to have yourself a most wonderful weekend.

I've always thought that releasing an album on Valentines Day was a bit hokey but for Lady Danville I'll make an exception. On this coming day for lovers Lady Danville will be releasing their newest EP titled Operating . You can take a listen to the title track below and find out for yourself the atmospheric and harmonious sound that this Los Angeles group is pulling together.

Vocal-centric, a familiar term to anyone who uses Pandora regularly. I swear, every song is tagged as vocal-centric except for all of the classical or other instrumental heavy genres. But, why am I talking about the word vocal-centric? Well, because Lady Danville describes themselves as a vocal-centric indie pop group and honestly, I can't really disagree with them. They are a group of three guys (Michael Garner, Dan Chang and Matthew Frankel) who found each other by way of an acapella group in college. How could they not be vocal-centric? Oh, and YES, their harmonies are near perfect, [...]

L.A. fans know Lady Danville's backstory: The trio of Michael Garner, Dan Chang and Matthew Frankel stormed out of UCLA's Awaken A Cappella group in a moment of harmonic convergence, took up instruments and began carving out their own path. After a couple of under-the-radar releases and plenty of touring, the trio is now making a proper splash with its "Operating" EP, due Feb. 14. The title track features the threesome in characteristic form — melodic and polished and brimming with vocals that almost take flight. Destination (to cop an old Trashcan Sinatras song title): The Pop Place. [...]
