Wow! Has it really been over two months since I've posted on of these? I guess it has... I won't make that mistake again. Another thing I don't think I ever mentioned is that when I was in Allister, we played with the Wunder Years in (I think) Colorado Springs to about six people, but that was something like ten years ago. Still, their song below is great. Enjoy. MP3 The Queers - Definitely from the 1995 album Move Back Home [...]

Everyone else is doing it so why shouldn't I? That's right, listmania 2008 is finally here and what I've got to present to you here is the first half of my favorite albums of the year. Love 'em or hate 'em, these are the albums that made the cut. I decided to stick with a list of 50 this year mainly because that's what I've done in the past and also because 2008 was a really great year for new music and narrowing down the list to fewer than this just seemed unfair. [...]

This is a serious contender for best album of the year. I can't say I ever really expected to make such a statement, at least not before actually laying hands on a copy of On Parallels . While some would argue there's pedigree by the pound here, thanks to frontman/songwriter Jason Shevchuk's involvement in (the awesome) Kid Dynamite and (the often bland) None More Black, I wasn't biting. I just couldn't get into most of the None More Black material, and by all reports it was going to be pretty much the complete opposite of Kid Dynamite [...]
Okay. I loved Jason Shevchuk as the singer of Kid Dynamite but never really latched on to None More Black the way I expected to. So when None More Black split up I just sorta shrugged my shoulders and said,"eh," expecting that to be the last I'd hear from Mr. Shevchuk. I was wrong. I was wrong and I'm glad I was wrong. When Shevchuk started working on solo material he had no intentions of starting a band, but sometime these things just happen. So for a short while LaGrecia [...]

Lagrecia came together for one album, though just one album wasn't their intention, I can only guess their intention was to make multiple albums, but for reasons that are known but not known they made this album and then dispersed into the wind. Leaving an excellent album in their wake, On Parallels is unparalleled…okay, that's an exaggeration. And you know, it's kind of hard to write about something that's been talked about so much, you have all these pre-conceived notions about what it should be like and it all get muddled together, and it's unfair to the [...]

From Suburban Home Records "Stay tuned as we will soon be posting a pre-order for the vinyl, the CD, and we will have a few package deals including t-shirts, a limited edition silk-screen, a pint glass, and some one inch buttons. We love the artwork so much we convinced Sal from LaGrecia to design a really cool silk-screened poster. As with some of our previous releases, we will be offering a full download of the entire album long before the album's release date of June 24th." 1. Hey Medic [...]
