Each year we're more and more impressed by Bonnaroo's ability to mix both classic and contemporary acts from across multiple genres, but we also love when they seem to throw the proverbial curve ball. Yesterday fest organizers did just that, when they revealed that country legend and former rotisserie chicken impresario Kenny Rogers had been added to the lineup. Rogers, who is best known as the singer of the country classic The Gambler and karaoke staple Islands In The Stream, has released 32 studio albums, charting 21 number one hits and selling a staggering 68 million [...]
Record Store Day is upon us. And by "upon us" I mean it's on April 21st, but it's time to start doing your research and deciding what goodies you're gonna snag on this most holy of music holidays. If you're not familiar with the holiday (or record stores) because you're a child of the internet and haven't been outside since you discovered you could order pizza online, let me enlighten you. Record stores used to be the only place you could go to get that new EP from your favorite artist. People would actually leave their homes, perhaps riding in [...]
Maribou State has a new EP coming out in June on Southern Fried Records and it will not disappoint! Had a chance to review all 3 tracks from the new EP, my favorite of the 3 new songs is "Rush Don't Run". "The Look" is also very good. Here is a full streaming preview of the Maribou State remix of "Blue Jeans" by Lana Del Rey - soon to be released on Polydor. Click Here to buy Lana Del Rey music from iTunes. Click [...]

There is a lot of hype around Lana Del Rey. Rightly so I reckon. Weird babe with duck lips and an epic vice to match some really nice instrumentals. But I think she is def an artist who benefits from a good remix. In this case, 2 good remixes. From Bromance Rec's, G.Vump & Gessafelstein. These have been out for while, but I can't get enough of G.Vump at the moment. Bromance Special Release : Lana Del Rey Remixes ...
Communion nights are always such fun. Gig nights are a dime a dozen, but consistently good ones are far rarer. Communion which as you probably know was now was cofounded by Mumford & Sons Ben Lovett has since its beginnings been at the forefront of the new - or should it be nu? - folk scene that's spread from West London through the rest of the UK. With nights all over the UK, and even in the USA, it's with some confidence that you know the music will be on point every time. This one however differed slightly [...]
To be honest, this may well be my favorite remix of Lana Del Ray's "Born to Die" yet. The song combines elements of Jay-Z's "Dirt Off Your Shoulders", Lana Del Ray's "Born To Die", Jamie Foxx/Rick Ross's "Living Better Now", and Ice Cube's "I Rep The West". Scott Melker did some serious work on this one. Check out his other sounds here . Download: Jay-Z v. Lana Del Ray - Dirt Off Your Shoulder (Scott Melker Remix)
Awesome, we finally have the debut mixtape from The Jane Doze . Although we've previously posted a few of the tracks you'll find on Girls Talk , there's also plenty of new material as well. My personal favs? "Born to Feel Beef" (Calvin Harris v. Lana Del Rey v. Steve Aoki Ft. Afrojack) and "Replacement Ros" (Sigur Ros v. Drake). Also, I should note that the second build and drop in "Wild Ones Take Over" just might kill you (if you have a powerful enough sub). The tape spans multiple genres, multiple artists, [...]
We've been strong supporters of Bastille ( facebook / twitter ) here on the Walrus since I first heard Dan Smith's debut, FLAWS , last May and saw the band's breathtaking live show. Since then, we've had the pleasure of reviewing their debut EP, Laura Palmer , featured their cover of City High's What Would You Do on our TASTE Vol.1 mixtape , and put them forward as one of 20122s bands to watch . Now they are back with a free [...]
Lana Del Rey has yet to even scratch the surface of where her career will eventually end up...superstardom. Her debut album, Born To Die , is easily my favorite release thus far in 2012. I've heard a few remixes of tracks off the album, none of which I've been particularly fond of...until now. Below is are two really solid remix efforts. The first is I Am A Camera's take on "Born To Die" which adds some really knocking drums and dark sounding synths that give the record some punch. The second is a straight club [...]

Lana Del Rey: Blue Jeans (Gesaffelstein Remix)
Gesaffelstein is back again, this time with a remix of Lana Del Rey's "Blue Jeans". Even if you don't like Lana Del Ray, the infectious production on this one will have you hooked. Nothing too over the top, but just enough to increase the repeat potential of the track. Give it a chance! Preview: Pick [...]

Gordon in the morning: Cheryl's Ray of hope
Oddly, the news that Cheryl Cole is supposedly going to record an unwanted Lana DelRay song is brought to us by... By COLIN ROBERTSON, TV Editor Which seems a bit surprising. Perhaps so many people are being kept busy at Wapping helping the police with their enquiries articles are written by anyone who happens to be around. Of course, it's all down to a "source": A source said last night: "Cheryl is a big fan of Lana and was intrigued to hear she had lots of songs written which she wasn't going [...]

Lana Del Ray, 'Video Games' (Joy Orbison Remix) -- Video Premiere
Filed under: News , Video , Exclusive , RPM , New Releases Interscope On Feb. 28, Lana Del Rey released an EP of remixes for her breakout hit 'Video Games.' However, not included on the EP is the treatment done by Joy Orbison , which was included on the deluxe version of her platinum selling album 'Born to Die.'
