Sure a fun weekend in Ottawa. Went to Raw Sugar Cafe on February 19, 2012 to see: • Nat Baldwin • Landon A.R. Coleman I was very excited for this show because I missed the show last time he played in Ottawa on November 18, 2010 . Only caught the last two songs of the set. He mentioned that he was hungover from [...]

( email | facebook | twitter ) I don't know. Whether it's the Bosch cover art, or the T.S. Eliot liner notes, or the well-lit plinka-plinka that inaugurates the album, there's something different about this one. No doubt we'll always screw his name up - Landon A.R. Coleman, natch - but something about the tea leaves makes us nod in agreement. Self-descriptions are often all you need to know, and in this case they don't disappoint. Folk_With_Eyebrows [...]
Originally from Edmonton but now living in Ottawa, Landon A. R. Coleman is the very definition of a wandering spirit. He's journeyed from one end of the country to the other, searching for musical inspiration and metaphysical meaning. He's collected his experiences in a lovely musical anthology called Landon A. R. Coleman's Single Life , that's sure to connect one some level with everyone who hears it. The record was produced by Leif Vollebekk , who also joined Coleman on piano, banjo, violin, organ, Mellotron, guitar, bass, and percussion, and [...]

This was the first time to finally see Landon A.R. Coleman live. It was a CD-Release show with his new album " A Single Life ". Really nice set with the sun setting down and people having a good time. Here are [...]

Feeling the void of no new materials from Leif Vollebekk ? Have no fear! I got this email from this Ottawa musician named Landon A.R. Coleman . He will drop his new album "A Single Life" on August 15, 2011. Landon is a Edmonton ex-pat now living in Ottawa. From his Facebook it says "Landon Coleman sings folk music with his eyebrows." how cheeky! When I mentioned Leif, it is because he help produced this album. The album is ten tracks filled with great [...]
Landon A.R. Coleman is an Edmonton-native who has just recorded a new album. The record, Landon A.R. Coleman's Single Life, was produced by Leif Vollebekk in Ottawa. You can sample some of the songs here. The album comes out on August 15th and a tour will follow.

We're home from the folkfields after a two-week hiatus, tanned, rested, and ready to explicate the current state of folk as represented by this year's mainstage and sidestage lineups and their accompanying buzz. While we gather our thoughts [and CDs] for our annual post-fest megapost, here's the best of what landed in the mailbox during our absence. With its tender mix of old-timey reconstructions, traditional tunes, original songs, and recorded field narratives, On The Brooklyn Road - an incredible new country roots album from [...]
