Two months after the release of his highly anticipated fourth EP, So Many Nights , Burns is still in the spotlight. His tracks have been A-listed by major DJs around the world (Tiga, Aeroplane and Crookers to name but a few), and he's also been receiving praise for his production work. Having built his reputation with a series of stunning remixes for a wide range of artists, Burns has kept very busy in the past few months doing remixes for the likes of Empire of the Sun, Passion Pit [...]

To put this into perspective, my first two records were purchased in 2003. They were the Gorillaz' debut and Stereophonic's third album. I only started to listen to electronic music over two years ago, with Soulwax's incredible documentary Part of the Weekend Never Dies . Rap and hip-hop, for me, has only been around for about a year. So to say my musical journey is still at its start, is an overstatement. The list will be indie rock dominated and slanted towards the end of this decade, but I hope you enjoy it anyway. I was originally [...]

Everything about Late of the Pier is wicked weird. From their description of the band on their Myspace page , you would think they were a team of fictional crime fighters talking about their superpowers… Samuel Dust "sings, strums, scribbles" Francis Dudley Dance "plucks, wobbles shelves" Red Dog Consuela "batterie soundscape" Jack Paradise "electronic battle tapping" Their eccentric on-stage antics and wildly energetic (often topless) dancing aside, what is really great about LOTP is the huge variety [...]

let's get this party started, 5 sun-tinged mp3s DOM - Living In America IT IS SEXY TO LIVE IN AMERICA. You bet that if you have to scroll down to the U's whenever you declare your country, you're not sexy. That is why United States is found at the top, usually the first choice. This song sounds like an 80's synth-pop hit remixed by WAVVES lo-fi ingenuity. If it wasn't [...]

Dear readers, for the first part of yesterday I had completely forgotten that we were turning 2 but I soon realised we did. And boy, it could not have been celebrated better. 1. Completely unprepared and last-minute we interviewed Darwin (from Darwin Deez , obviously) before his gig - we talked about Dawson's Creek, anti-Hanson chatrooms & sexuality (lots of it). He is a lovely guy and the gig later that night proved to be absolutely AMAZING. Synchronized dancing is the best. This is the happiest I've felt during a gig this year, I couldn't [...]

The Gigantic legend that is Donal Rainey is celebrating his birthday tonight at the club. The theme is simple really, face paint. Everyone who is coming to the club is welcome to join in on this theme by using face paint in your own imaginative ways. Below are some songs picked by other regulars at Gigantic and lovers of Donal. Carly Drysdale It's our song we get shaky to. The Ian Carey Project - Get Shaky [...]

Fuck Yea. Niggaz '! Miami Horror - [...]

it's definitely true that the 'indie' band's hold on the 21st century has subsided however, there are a few bands and groups that continue to persevere in a synth heavy, youth scen e. 'egyptian hip hop' are a group that have really caught my interest recently, mainly though their affiliations with samuel eastgate (lead singer of 'late of the pier' and the brain behind la priest). their loose, carefree style of 'electro-pop' has lasting power and [...]

two much loved things, finally together at last... We've never posted a mash-up before...but here goes. BRAND-X is out of London who's only been going for 6 months or so after teaching himself Fruity Loops. He's put together the Boys Noize remix of Late of The Pier's Focker and the Beastie Boys classic Intergalactic. Is a pretty massif sound and the tracks work freakin well together. You can also check out another BRAND-X mash-up of Major Lazer and Kelis over at fellow Aussie (but a shit load better) blog, Trashbag [...]

DON'T walk, dance like an Egyptian, courtesy of a remix of up-and-coming Mancunian indie act Egyptian Hip Hop . The group's debut single Wild Human Child , which features production from Castle Donington band Late Of The Pier 's Sam Eastgate, has had a going over by friend-of-Sound Advice Radiant Dragon . And you can grab a free download of his "spaced out" reworking of the track here .

OK so you've probably noticed my complete absence for the last few weeks but things have been very busy at Uni and as they say, when there's too many in the bed, they all roll over and one has to fall out. Know what I mean? Anyway, this is pretty late but I thought it really needed a mention. --------- At the tale end of last year Late Of The Pier returned with a stand alone single 'Blueberry' - a psychedelically mind bending soundscape that showed there was much more to them [...]
|:|New EP from British Electro-Pop-Alternative Group|:| Late of the Pier - Best In Class Here is a new single from Late of the Pier, an electro-pop consortium that bends the solid conceptions of rock and techno to create a sound that is unique. The group has some new material recently out, where you can find this song, Best In Class EP . They have choruses with choruses made of a smorgasbord of sounds and vocals that blend together better [...]
