Deep Elm Records has made Latterman 's remastered debut Turn Up the Punk, We'll Be Singing available today as a free download. The free release is part of the label's ongoing series of free albums to be released on Wednesdays. Grab it here . We spoke to Latterman (and RVIVR) member Matt Canino in September and Latterman will be performing some reunion shows in December .
We've got a lot of love for the Brixton Windmill. Not only is it where a lot of our friends (like When Planets Collide) put on a lot of killer shows, but they've also got a roof dog. And it's at the Windmill that our man, Tom Doyle, rolled down to last weekend to catch [...]

As RVIVR vocalist Matt Canino knows, sometimes a lie can tell the truth… but most of the time it doesn't. Canino jumped into public punk consciousness by fronting the equally gruff and soulful Latterman, a band that earned accolades for its heart-on-the-sleeve lyrics and energetic performances. But, when the group broke up, Canino seemed to be disaffected with the audience, stating "I felt like a broken record going on tour and talking about sexism in punk rock every night and then some fucking bro-dudes coming up to me and saying some fucked up shit." [...]

After their reunions shows at Maxwells and The Bell House sold out instantly, Latterman announced two more reunion dates in the area.

NY punk band Latterman have announced two reunion shows in the area.

In case you didn't know it, RVIVR is a pretty damn amazing band. On this, their first full-length, the band spits out the same sort of under-produced pop-punk that I loved on their Life Moves 7". It's the same sort of lovingly crappy punk I listened to as a teenager, except way way better. WAY! Yes, Matt Canino still shouts like he was in Latterman and Shorebirds (because he was) but I've totally grown to love the raw and raspy female vocals from Erica Freas. Her vocals add another layer of depth [...]

New track from RVIVR (ex-Latterman) titled "Seethin" off their forthcoming Dirty Water EP. For fans of fast melodic pop punk with male & female vocals like Fifth Hour Hero or The Measure SA. RVIVR - Seethin

Wow! This is one of the best things I've heard in, well, forever… On their (now sold out) Life Moves 7", RVIVR plays the kind of raw and scruffy basement shit-pop-punk that I grew up listening to and I can't get enough of it. The fact that there are male and female vocals make this even better than if it was only Matt Canino doing the singing. That's right. This is Canino's new band (he's a former member of Latterman and Shorebirds) and all four songs are great, but would you [...]

The kind folks at If You Make It are currently hosting free downloads of demos from a number of their talented friends' bands. Bands include Thousandaires (members of Bridge & Tunnel) , The Brass (members of On the Might of Princes & Latterman) , and Iron Chic (members of Latterman & Small Arms Dealer). Check out all the sweet jams HERE
One of of my resolutions last January was to "return to my roots" and focus a little more on the punk music that sustained my teenage years. I think I did a pretty good job accomplishing that goal. So you don't like punk music? Tough. Yeah, I like my fair share of indie rock and other such fare, but the Burial record did nothing for me. Neither did the Panda Bear album or Neon Bible . Deal with it. 30. Modest [...]

I n yet another example of just how anti-cool I am, I only happened across the music of Latterman very recently and promptly found out that they just broke up. Fuckin' bummer. The band (from Huntington, Long Island, New York) played rough but melodic pop-punk that would sit nicely in your collection alongside records from Dillinger Four, Hot Water Music, The Lawrence Arms, etc... Their final album We Are Still Alive is full of catchy but gritty pop-punk anthems that I can imagine bunches of sweaty kids crammed into a VFW singing/screaming along [...]

A re you still tired from a late night out on the town and a few too many pints? These tunes (and maybe a good cup of coffee) should wake you right up and get you ready for the day. Enjoy! MP3 | Diesel Boy - Titty Twister MP3 | Rehasher - Lift MP3 | Latterman - If Batman Was Real... [...]
