I will admit to not getting into the music of B.A. Johnston . When I read the news that he will drop a new album (his eighth) called Hi Dudes! on February 21, 2012. I was more interested and fascinated in the song Truffle Shuffle. Because the song features Laura Barrett who is a musician and plays in the Weezer cover band " Sheezer ". Overall, though, despite the fact that, in terms of sheer mass, covers from tributes overwhelm singletons in my collection, what I've found this year is that a significant majority of the songs that lingered, and demanded overplay, came from a mixed bag of borderline genre albums and single shot coverfolk tracks, via the usual sources, from YouTube, Soundcloud, studio appearances, website and bandcamp singles, and more. Also there were alot of people and the vibe was positive and everyone knew all the words to the song. From Toronto, this adorable little nerd is a classically trained pianist but taught herself everything else. She has a very minimalist sort of acoustic style which you can hear in Deception Island Optimists Club . Not to mention her voice is angelic and soulful and sits perfectly on top of everything.
