Well, she has taken to her infamous Tumblr to give a full-on explanation of the track, which she admitted was rushed to fulfill legal obligations. We just mentioned that Lauryn Hill was sentenced to jail in NJ for not paying income tax (did you write a letter to the judge on her behalf ?), and now comes word that she'll make a bit more income by playing a show at Brooklyn's Music Hall of Williamsburg on Tuesday, May 14 (four days from now!). Lauryn Hill on Monday (May 6) was sentenced to three months in prison for failing to pay taxes . Last night, Hill posted a note on her Facebook page to "extend a sincere thank you" to people who had written letters to the judge on her behalf. Lauryn Hill has been sentenced by the state of New Jersey to three months in jail due to unpaid tax bills. The BBC reported that the singer, 37, also faces three months of house arrest after pleading guilty to tax evasion last year.
