Decent Spanish rock bands don't happen often and this lot have given us their new album, Savage Bahavior for you guys to listen to as well. Oof.

After over a year hiatus A Derogatory ReTerms on http://aderogatoryterm.com giving us the freedom we need to post what we like with out the stick of Google's Blogspot prodding us in the anus. Adso and I are as keen as ever so let's hope we can keep it going. Our musical taste has both shifted in all directions, which will give you a greater variety of sounds. Quality of tracks is also going to be a focus of mine and I plan to [...]

Hennessy Remixed by Soul Candi, collaboration between luxury cognac brand Hennessy and top house label Soul Candi Records will be unleashing UK house sensations, The Layabouts and Reel People in SA.

I get the impression that this one landed in my inbox as a result of my prattling on about how great Ben Folds used to be. In my experience (which is admittedly limited owing to the fact that I live in England, where Folds-fans are comparatively thin on the ground) a shared enthusiasm for Whatever and Ever, Amen is a surefire way to get a free CD off someone. And in such cases what you invariably end up hearing is almost exactly what you'd expect: MOR piano-rock, with occasionally witty, somewhat acerbic lyrics. LA based band [...]

The other day I posted the video for the new single, My Tribe by Spleen United and according to the band's label the sophomore album will be out January 14 next year. I don't believe that the title of the album has been revealed just yet, but since I immediately liked the new single, my expectations are growing fast (no matter what they decide to call it). My Tribe doesn't exactly indicate that the band is planning any major changes to their electronic soundscape and I [...]

Yesterday when I downloaded the fine new track Arms Around The City by US ( Steely Dan and Elvis Costello inspired) jazz/pop trio Layabout from the band's Myspace profile , I noticed that the bitrate was 192 Kbps and that the song was tagged correctly! Hopefully this is not an error/mistake, but a sign that the "good old days" are about to return (though I seem to be having problems copying the link, so I had to upload it myself)? The track is from [...]
