Tonight sees the Le Galaxie boys headline Whelan's after the match so let's hope it's a celebration rather than a damp desolate heart-crushingly ball-numbing result we'd rather forget. Either way, Le Galaxie will be bringing their own 'Victory' and joining them from 10.30pm tonight will be The Ambience Affair and Neosupervital so it's a great show all round. There's something to cheer about for the following Irish artists to have a nomination for the Irish Music Television awards to take place in The Sugar Club on Friday November 27th. Le Galaxie release debut EP and announce tour

Le Galaxie release their debut EP Transworld , on Friday May 15th 2009 on Battlepulse Records. The EP follows on from the 2008 single releases 'We Bleed The Blood Of Androids' and 'You Feel the Fire!' It features four tracks, 'Transworld', 'Beyond Transworld', 'The Fury' and 'Equalizers'. According to the band, they took to the Le Galaxie sonic laboratory, donned their white coats, pushed up their spectacles, pulled down their visors and built these tunes like a huge wall of Tetris. The Academy was worryingly empty when at little before 8pm support act Le Galaxie arrived onstage. The band took the absence of an audience in their stride however, and treated the few present to new tracks from their upcoming EP. Synth-tastic noise their weapon of choice, this Dublin based band would be worth a listen in a more appreciative setting.
