Mexican producer Louie Fresco burst onto the scene late last year with his Donna Summer sampling track So Good released on Art Department's Jonny White's label No.19 Music. The subsequently (and exquisite) remix by Russ Yallop cemented him as one to watch in 2012. Now, as he's set to put out the second release from his new label, Mexa Records, a joint venture with his fellow countryman Jay Blakk (of Climbers), we caught up with him to chat Latin influences, Kenny G, Twinkies and more in what might be the funniest interview we've ever had the pleasure of [...]

Lee Foss just released this track that he produced in 2009 titled, "Drop." Created on a 2 hour bus ride from Briston to London and performed in Kubicle that same day, it has sat on Foss' virtual shelf collecting dust ever since. Download: Lee Foss - "Drop"

This is one of those new-joints. Lee Foss had this filthy track, "Freakiness Inside," laying around from 2009 and posted it to Soundcloud last weel. Deep house mixed with a little nu-disco. I'm loving what guys like Lee Foss do for electronic music. Download: Lee Foss - "Freakiness Inside" Freakiness Inside by Lee Foss
Soul Clap have been dominating my playlists recently. The duo, hailing from Boston, have in the last few years become synonymous with perfected mixing, funky production incorporating the most diverse musical influences you're bound to see and educating the rest of the world as to what they should be listening to. This is a calling that resonates particularly well with what we here at Upside Sounds aspire to do. The "culmination of our entire lives with music", their EFUNK: The Album will drop on the Wolf + Lamb label at the end [...]

Grosse affiche pour cette soirée samedi soir au Social Club , soirée chaude en perspective, avec la venue de deux membres du fameux label Hot Creations ! > DANNY DAZE > LEE FOSS > FRENCH FRIES > CONI > THE TOWN > [...]

The duo of Bonar Bradberry and Tom Thorpe form the production tandem PBR Streetgang. Hailing from the notorious club scene of Leeds these two honed their skills at the legendary Asylum. Well known for their ability to connect with a crowd as well as fill a set with heavy bass and deep funk this tag team has earned the respect of many worldwide. Their most recent release was featured on acclaimed label Hot Natured (Owned by Jamie Jones and Lee Foss ). The track 'Downstroke', currently charting #5 on Beatport Deephouse Chart, is a combination of [...]
Well, it's been the Year of the Dragon for a few days now and I really haven't noticed much of a difference. Anyway, I want to feature Calembour today; you may have seen the name in some previous Fridays. Calembour has one of the more creative approaches to dance music and it's been demonstrated consistently for the past couple [...]

Rarely has a party been so eagerly anticipated as Hot Natured first ever London Party this New Year's Day. With a scramble for tickets resulting in second-hand ones fetching £60 and more leaving some smug, some out of pocket and some bitterly disappointed. It's great to see the boys reap the benefits of their obvious talent and hard work, but such insane popularity brings obvious problems for the more discerning clubber. So any negativity surrounding the event are in no way a reflection on the Hot Natured crew themselves, as the main source of any upset was the crowd itself. It's [...]

Never one to shy away from the party vibes, Foss here dips into a selection of his recent favourites—a no brainer for New Year's Eve, then. [ Read More ] LINK: Lee Foss - Resident Advisor Podcast 291
House party house from one half of Hot Natured. Jamie Jones may be the more widely recognized half of Hot Natured, but this is no Batman/Robin dynamic. Lee Foss' background in '90s hip-hop and R&B has arguably been the defining influence on the house sound that's propelled the duo and their label, Hot Creations, to the global position in which they now find themselves. This fusion has, for countless people, been the soundtrack to 2011. There's been quite a journey up to this point, though. Foss was a full-time DJ back in his hometown of Chicago, travelling to [...]
The second of our best of 2011 series. A list of top tracks of 2011 from our contributors and our special guests leading up to the new year.

London based Ali Love, has up until recently been known for a more disco sound with 20102s album Love Harder drawing comparisons to Heartbreak and Cut Copy. This year however, has seen him ally himself with dance music's big-guns: the Hot Creations crew headed up by Jamie Jones and Lee Foss. His latest project, Infinity Ink, with Luca C , has been getting notable attention with latest track Games appearing on mixes by anyone worth listening to, including both Maceo Plex and Art Department. Fitting then, that he should be performing a live PA this [...]

Some of us sit about lamenting the end of summer and some of us get on with shit. Lucky for us Hot Creations, Jamie Jones and Lee Foss's record label, is in the latter camp. This 3 track EP due for release in just over week features brand new tracks from Bubba, M A N I K , and Infinity Inc, a new project from Ali Love and Luca C. Tracklisting: A1. Infinity Inc - Games A2. M A N I K - Body High B1. Bubba - Dance With Me [...]

Considering Hot Natured (aka Jamie Jones and Lee Foss) view London as their hometown and even live here for a good proportion of the year; it comes as a bit of a shock to realise they're never actually thrown a Hot Natured party here. So what's the best way to remedy that? Throw a party on THE BEST day to party in London and pull together a lineup so sick people will consider selling their kidneys to come along. Yep. New Years Day. Robert James. Richy Ahmed. Miguel Campbell. Maceo Plex. Art Department. Hot Natured & Ali Love. Feeling a [...]
Preview Lee Foss' stellar remix of Toby Tobias' track "Tomorrow's Bringing".

I've been a bit of a Bristols Waifs & Strays fan since their release on Futureboogie a short while back. It seems as though Jamie Jones & Lee Foss are also fond of the duo as they've signed them up for a record on their Hot Creations imprint. I'm not sure what's changed in their camp but it looks as though they are branching out from their tight knit crew and are starting to look at some slightly lesser known talents such as Miguel Campbell. Either that or they are making lots of friends in Ibiza, which definitely wouldn't suprise [...]

This is arguably the biggest release for This Is Music in their relatively short but successful career. Toby Tobias is sometimes a bit hit and miss for me but it seems as though he is hitting his stride for the year with this release. However it's not just the original track worth mentioning here. The remix package is absolutely stellar (and huge), featuring legends like Bicep, Lee Foss and Zoo Look. As well as the Narrow Road remix from Toby himself. The record drops 3rd October and it's totally worth getting around. The Bicep remix is [...]
