If you happen to read this site once in a while (do you?), you might be aware that both Lee Noble and Brian Pyle aka Ensemble Economique are artists whose work we rather admire, so the news of a split 12 inch between the two got us quite excited. Motion Forever , as the piece of art will be called, is out June 20 on wonderful French imprint Hands In The Dark . Below, you may take a listen to the first two cuts of the LP, courtesy of Ad Hoc . First, [...]

Tes yeux, tes mains, ta vue, ta voix.

Soothsayer - "II" The Lee Noble-curated No Kings recently issued an excellent cassette from Soothsayer ( Moon Glyph main-man Steve Rosborough) entitled Keynes Utopia , which offers up 6 tracks and 40 minutes of pure sonic therapy. Bask in the warming glow of "II", which massages your headspace with coolly meditative ambience and woodsy field recordings—perfect for staring out the window and letting the drool drip down. NK appears to [...]
Clearing – "Blank" No Kings honcho and impeccable soundsmith Lee Noble lifted some of our SOPA blackout blues this morning with a newly-minted vid by Geoffrey Sexton , who's previously helmed clips for the likes of Pink Priest and Sparkling Wide Pressure . This time around he's teamed up with Clearing ( Police Academy 6 / Skylines ' Joseph Volmer), who recently hit up NK with the coyly-named No Titles [...]

Ghostly Electronic Drone Folk Bridgetown Records Lee Noble got a lot of buzz for his Horrorism album, last year. Me, myself and I like the Our Star, The Sun or No Becoming a bit more. And this tape stands in the same row as the both releases mentioned before. It's his layered, hissing, lofi ghost sounds that makes it so unique and of course the mixture between plain drone soundscapes and the [ This is the summary, read the whole story on Website ] [...]

In case you haven't noticed, I decided to switch things up again, style-wise. Same color scheme, much less annoying design. I spent a total of 10 minutes on this, utilizing the photoshop gradient tool and noise filter. It's really, really complicated. But I feel as though it better fits the tone of our tunes. Like this video for Lee Noble 's "Parents". This is one of the more visually captivating videos I've seen in some time and the perfect fit for this lo-fi tune with its nearly indecipherable lyrics. Big ups to everyone who worked on this [...]

(Bathetic Records, 2011) If you're into ghosts, ghosting, dim lights, dim lamps, dim sunsets, general dimness; if you're into groggy hums, low humming, low flying birds flying upside-down and in reverse; if you're into extraterrestrial fog, extraterrestrial miasmas, extraterrestrial ghosts and ghosting, extraterrestrial ghost viscera hanging in the air, extraterrestrials; if you're into mottled surfaces: concrete, bird-wings, degraded metals, worn/faded cotton; if you like it when it's mid-afternoon and a slow moving darkness propagated by a hulking mass of clouds terminates your afternoon and sucks you into the loose-quilted fabrics of your favourite grandmotherly-stitched quilt, watching David Lynch [...]
No Becoming by Lee Noble Some dark, lo-fi ambient tunes suggested to me on Facebook by a follower. At first, it seemed like just another suggestion, but the material on this March-released album is pretty eerie. The dude certainly does a lot with a little. Some really nice textures on this album, which is titled No Becoming . Download the album or buy the cassette version of it on Lee Noble's Bandcamp .

Not presumptuous in the slightest, the folks over at Bathetic praise Lee Noble 's new LP Horrorism as nothing less than a "game changer". We've already loved his cassette releases for Moon Glyph and Bridgetown , and in particular the stunning No Becoming which was released by Sweat Lodge Guru in March, but it's only now that the LA resident's full-blown magnificence comes to light. Horrorism is a marvelous album, a vastly coherent and mature work of eerie drone [...]

Haunted Houses — Keepmeshutup The latest drop from Lee Noble 's always golden No Kings label comes courtesy of Haunted Houses (Ryan Lopilato), who's previously graced Bathetic with his brand of eerie, tape-damaged folk. On The Heaven of the Soul & the Heaven of the Moon , Lopilato tackles heady topics such as the "inner realms" of consciousness and how "the power of the beyond is within ourselves". "Keepmeshutup" might not answer any [...]

Now that Los Angeles resident and long-standing NFOP darling Lee Noble is finally getting the props his fascinating work so much deserves, we've been more than delighted this morning to see that the dude is already about to drop his next cassette. Persona will be released by Bridgetown next month (most likely), and below you can listen to the album's first track to have surfaced. With its slow ambient patterns and wide spanning soundscapes, Carve an Image has all the splendid features that make Noble such an extraordinary [...]

Lee Noble — Paradise Life We've already featured two videos from Lee Noble 's delectable No Becoming tape (available here and here ), so I figure it's due time we post an actual track. "Paradise Life", unlike its name would suggest, is some somber stuff. Guitar juts like razors, static unravels, and a bleak, damaged melody howls through the wreckage. Drone, ambient -call it whatever you want- this is top-notch fare from [...]
