Before my brother abandoned music and confined his musings to film alone ( Take Me To Your Cinema blog ) every week he would pick out 10 tracks for Music Like Dirt. He was a good musical foil, enlightening me to countless sounds I would otherwise never have noticed, but perhaps its time for another crack at more regular roundups again. So here are 10-ish current-ish tunes rocking my world, all handily wrapped in a playlist from the new music sharing site whyd.com or a truncated (not all available) Spotify list . There may be another [...]

The website Aggronautix has a limited edition Lee "Scratch" Perry figurine imported from PRESSPOP in Japan. It was designed by Archer Prewitt and personally approved by Scratch himself. I FINALLY grew out of collecting toys about 10 years ago, but this would look pretty good next to my talking Master P doll , don't you think? You can pre-order yours right here .

For 364 days a year this blog is dedicated to music I love, artists that need to be heard, and songs to make you sing/dance/cry/make love (delete as the mood fits)... However Christmas Day is a very very special day. Its a day when we listen to music we'd rather die than hear for the other 364 days. Nevertheless I've hunted high and low (ie, blew some dust off the CD rack) to find a few truly great xmas tracks (and some others that at least don't make you want to put those lovely new socks over [...]

There probably aren't many bands that would think of writing a delightful Pop-Folk song touching on the subject of cum (Except maybe The Hidden [...]

Put off by Celine Dion promo CD's, obscure opening hours, and over eager traffic wardens I've neglected my trusty PO Box a little of late. As such a modest pile had built up when I finally illegally parked the Micra and dashed in before the clampers descended. In an age of MP3's and zshare it's a bit of an oddity that people still actually use old fashioned mail, but there's something about a person taking the trouble to lick the stamp, and physically send you a CD that compels you to listen, far more than a copy and [...]
