Nick Loss Eaton's rough vocals are a perfect voice for this lo-fi Americana act. In a year and a half, Leland Sundries has put out only two EPs, but it's become a group worth watching. The group digs deep into folk tradition for their dusty music, putting together an aesthetic indebted to the past but not stuck in it. On latest release The Foundry EP the group expands its sound, moving from creaky porches into more of a band sound, even approaching rockabilly on the comic "Giving up Redheads"....

Brooklyn indie-folk band Leland Sundries’ sophomore record ‘The Foundry EP’ was released on Feb 21, 2012 on L’Echiquier Records. The EP was recorded in Greenpoint, Brooklyn in an old creamery building with leader Nick Loss-Eaton playing guitar, banjo, harmonium, harmonica, and vocals. For the most part, the song centers around a nicely strummed guitar, with a deep-toned vocal coming your way. I am a horrible musician. I can't even keep the beat and my wife routinely refers to me as The Jerk . Therefore, since I can't do it I became a reviewer of music.
