Both bands hook up for a short run of co-headine shows in November. Les Shelleys are an acoustic guitar/vocal duo from Los Angeles, consisting of FatCat's folk asset Tom Brosseau and his singing partner Angela Correa, better known as the... Read more..

The spare acoustic folk music of Les Shelleys comes courtesy of two very familiar voices in L.A.'s singer-songwriter circles: Tom Brosseau and Angela Correa (of Correatown ). It's the stuff of sepia-toned photographs and black-and-white movies; the pair met eight years ago and bonded over vintage stuff like Woody Guthrie and Leadbelly. Their self-titled album for Fat Cat Records is just this side of quietude, but proof that you don't need volume to be loud. ||| Download: "World Is Waiting for the Sunrise" [...]

It's not very often I cover stuff from outside the friendly confines of the Canadian borders these days, but when it comes to Tom Brosseau and anything he's affiliated with, I make an exception. In this case, it's the collection of stripped down duets he recorded with Angela Correa . The recipe might sound familiar to herohill readers, as Tom and Angela's output mirrors what Daniel, Fred & Julie created simply by sitting down in a garage with a traditional song book, some microphones and some recording equipment. Tucked [...]

Tweet There's been a lot of indiepop on Eardrums lately, and it probably says a lot about my listening habits. However, - my musical heart beats for other genres too, and Les Shelleys from San Fransisco represent one of them. Les Shelleys are a new project from FatCat records ' Tom Brosseau and his singing partner Angela Correa . I really liked Brosseau's album "Empty houses are lonely" from a couple of [...]

Contrary to what you might suspect from my location this week and the steady stream of silly videos from Anstruther , this podcast is not anything to do with the Fence Collective or Haarfest. Actually, apart from a few brief intrusions from my pile of audio cassettes (a lot of time in the van, you see) this is generally just the usual stream of music news and new bits and pieces from my inbox. Actually, I am way behind my inbox at the moment, due to a week of holiday and now a week in Anstruther, [...]
Tom Brosseau & Angela Correa aka Les Shelleys appear in this video from The New Los Angeles Folk Festival to help raise money through Kickstarter for the fest so it can give more money to charity. The festival, taking place August 7 at HM157, is giving $ to the Environmental Defense Fund so it can [...]
Les Shelleys is Tom Brosseau's band with Angela Correa. They're playing the grand opening of an optometrist's office....A little research reveals that Hoff Optometry & Eyewear may be the hippest eye doctor locale you've ever visited. They can outfit you in vintage eyewear and the music playing on the website is very exciting. [...]

It seems like only yesterday when singer-songwriter Tom Brosseau performed at LimeWire Store's Hangover Helper at the Longbranch Inn at SXSW 2009. A year later, Brosseau took the stage with his good friend Angela Correa (who he's been making music with for a decade) as Les Shelleys at the IODA/LimeWire Store Opening Day Bash . LWMB caught up with the duo after their opening set, found out how they met and when we can expect their debut album that's been a decade in the making. [...]
We've known Ms. Correatown for a little while now. Long enough to know that while the name "Correatown" may encompass its new band members and a new full-band sound, in truth, it's still all about Angela Correa. We briefly met Lady Angela in passing outside of San Diego's singer-songwriter haven Lestat's when she still lived down there some five years ago. We didn't know much about her until
