United Kingdom, here I come. Oh, I've seen your shores before, but never like this. On Tuesday I'll be crossing the Atlantic for an 7-date tour of the UK with my friends Colin & Dana, who combine their awesome powers to form the wonderful Burlington, Vermont-based indie-pop twosome Let's Whisper (when they're not busy being Smittens ). They've foolishly graciously invited me along for the trip to hit some drums behind them, temporarily making their duo a trio. While I've been to London a few times, it was mostly for work (1993's amazing [...]
Let's Whisper Today's free MP3 is by Smittens spin-off Let's Whisper and the indiepop track California Girls

Tweet WeePOP! records have announced some great news today. They will release a new EP with the lovely The Just Joans , "Your pain is a joke next to mines", on 27 September. It will be a 7 track EP, as usual on a handstamped 33 cd with handmade cover. I said "as usual", but from now on, the 33 discs will not be the only thing WeePop! will release. They will start releasing full lenght albums on "giant-sized" (standard 5″) cds, [...]

Mientras [...]
Eardrums Music Blog | Eardrums Pop Label | Twitter Eardrums was a blog I started following before I ever realized there thousands of other music blogs out there. I have always been a big fan of music coming from Scandanavian/Nordic countries and this is one of the best blogs out [...]

It is summer. It does not require much of brain for you to realize that. In fact, it requires more intelligence to find your way to our website so if it being summer is news to you, you are probably here by mistake. If you are not and I just wasted five seconds of your time I apologize. However, my nonsense is not the only thing I will apologize for though. I would also like to apologize for the upkeep of this blog the last two days and for that reason I will be rewarding you with two songs. Now, [...]
![WeePOP! Records [Label Spotlight]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2644458_lg.jpg)
There is a growing underground force of pop labels releasing music on nontraditional formats. Of these formats, two prevalent ones, at least in the lo-fi pop and twee pop arenas, are cassette and the 3-inch single. Being such a strong fan of the genres that release via these formats, one would think I would have the ability to play them when they arrive in my mailbox. Unfortunately, I do not at this time. (But boy do I love receiving them!) WeePOP! Records releases via the latter and they've built [...]

We're looking at places for rent - online for now and next week in person. Two very annoying things keep happening. One is that the really really great places are just enough over our budget so that we might trick ourselves into thinking we can afford them when really we can't. Two is that while we like many places, we haven't really fallen in love with any of them. Which means it's hard to decide which ones we should check out and which ones we should just forget about. I've jotted down about 40 places. We have four days in [...]

On Friday night, the very first day of May, I'm genuinely proud to have pulled together a pretty amazing four-band lineup at TT the Bears in Cambridge, Mass. -- From Minneapolis, and making their Boston-area debut, the wonderful Now, Now Every Children. One of Boston's best new bands, The Hush Now. Truly great local quartet You Can Be A Wesley. And opening the evening, from the northern
As the weather starts to warm up, my heart goes out to all my friends living in cold places. So, in tribute to them, I've included a good number of bands that rock that come from "the cold lands". It's no new big news that Scandinavia has some of the best up and coming indie artists these days. So, another "big surprise" that there are a few bands from Norway and Sweden. Sorry Flint, nothing from Finland this time! *grins* I've made this weeks Friday Fix a bit larger than usual, dedicated to help those folks coping with [...]
