What is House? Technotronic, KLF or something you live in. To me House is Phuture Pierre Fingers Adonis etc. The pioneers of the Hypnotic Groove, Brian Eno, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode and the Yellow Magic Orchestra. This Album is dedicated to you.

I'll leave you for the weekend with one of my favourite instrumental tracks of all time LFO 's 'LFO' from 1989. Brings back such memories! Buy LFO's music from: Follow @electronicrumor
During the big dance boom of the early '90s, a prejudicial theory floated around that went a bit "well it's all going to sound dated in few years, isn't it?". There was, and to some extent still is, a lingering idea that dance music is somehow disposable, has a sell by date, whereas rock and roll, that's timeless isn't it? It is now a full 20 years since Warp Records released LFO's immense Frequencies , a record, that more than any other, cemented their pioneering reputation, and ya know what, it sounds like it could have been released yesterday [...]

some soothing tunes today for my aching head: i really can't get enough of this wolf & lamb / soul clap p funk thing. i feel like their names have been popping up a lot on blouse recently, but i guess that reflects just how much their names have been popping up in my head. their mixtapes, singles, ep's, podcasts and sides a, b & all the way to z have been getting serious punishment from me. while their beats have been known to rock d-floors, i also feel that they should [...]
It is huge and it is happening in Europe's most exciting capital, Berlin! A must-attend for everyone living in Berlin or not! The line up is amazing and includes among others: Suede, Primal Scream presenting Screamadelica, Public Enemy, Beirut, Boy George, Santigold, Deus, Apparat, CSS, Yelle, Boys Noize, Aloe Blacc, Mogwai, The Drums, The Bloody [...]

We had the Speedy J remix of this tune a few days ago. Here's a bit of a techno version from Mark Bell. More on Wildplanet (or Wild Planet) here and on Bjork collaborator and LFO member Bell here . This remix is from 1992 and starts with some healthy electronic whoops, distortion and thumping beats. Like there's fluff in the angle grinder. But it does settle down to a gentler bit of techno before switching periodically back and forth between the gentle bits and the angle grinder bits. Happy now D? Wildplanet - Electron [...]
The legendary Paul Woolford has released a set of classic re-edits. Read his take on them below and grab them whilst you can. Only available for a limited time. Classic Re-Edits Volume 1 / Downloadable by Paul Woolford 'Many of these classic re-edits are borderline records, and by this, I mean that they are predominantly [...]
Happy July 4th all my fellow Americans! I'm currently holed up in the dried up cornhusk that America came from, and I gotta say it's kind of weird spending my first ever July 4th away from America. This year I will not be having any hot dogs (a tragedy of the highest order) nor will [...]

Key Track: Unapologize Production: Love Via Dance Machine has worked with Rob Freeman (Gym Class Heros, Cobra Starship), Earl Cohen (Whitney Houston, Destiny's Child, Will Smith), and Brad Young (LFO, NSync, Aerosmith). The Story: This alternative rock act is able to release full length records, however, they take a different approach than most other bands when it come to how they release their music. They release singles on PureVolume that are always made available to their fans as a free download. "Unapologize" was released in [...]

Quite possibly the hottest female electronic music duo on the planet is at it yet again, with a VIP re-release of their 2010 hit LFO . She definitely keeps it on the LFO, which stands for low frequency oscillator, featuring a ton low-freq, chilled out bass. No heavy synths for this duo, just pure, unadultered sexiness. Kito & Reija Lee - LFO (VIP Mix) Kito also recently put out this minimix for P3 radio , which features the exclusive first listen of her Beyonce [...]

"Summer Girls" - LFO (1999) "something in your eyes went and drove me crazy..."

PITCHED DOWN RAVE To be perfectly honest I was expecting a little more from the apocalypse. Seas boiling, continents engulfed in flames, the undead walking the earth. But no. It just turned a bit windy for an afternoon and I cut my finger servicing a diesel engine. Hardly the end of days. Another brilliant idea from the people that brought you Jesus. Building the hype for my new, shiney clubnight let me furnish you with some down tempo electro rave from Mr Vibert. Push the pitch to minus 8. Slow is the new fixie. [...]
A song from your favorite band.

First there was Aphex Twin . Then there was Magnetic Man . The likes of Jamie xx , Four Tet and Vitalic followed. As everything turns 'doo-lally in a rather pleasant and unpredictable way' down on Bloc Weekend HQ, the final, predictably startling headliner has been revealed as Laurent Garnier , closing the weekend's hedonistic proceedings alongside Matthew Dear . The (practically) full, stage-by-stage, or curator-by-curator line up now looks something like: Union: Magnetic Man * Beardyman * Claude Von Stroke * [...]

Since we had an LFO track yesterday , I thought we'd have LFO remixing Sabres of Paradise today. From 19952s "Versus" album of remixes, which had contributions from, amongst others, Depth Charge, The Chems and In The Nursery; LFO give Duke of Earlsfield a hard, metallic, techno sheen: Sabres of Paradise - Duke of Earlsfield (LFO Mix) Buy

Something quite rare for you. Not sure I've ever seen this on t'internet. A version of LFO's Tied Up on flexidisc. LFO were Mark Bell and Gez Varley (previously here ). Their pioneering reputation exceeds their releases despite a decade spanning career. In summary: LFO (Low Frequency Oscillation), named after the Low Frequency Oscillator component of synthesizers, were pioneers of the Sheffield "bleep techno" sound in the UK at the start of the 19902s and are best known for the early self-titled techno anthem " LFO ". The track for today is [...]

Between all of the wobble, breakbeats and other gritty elements that generally come with dubstep, "pop-infused" is one of the last descriptions I expect to hear for a hit new track, although that seems to be becoming more of a likelihood by the day. Apparently Australian talent Kito sees things a bit differently. Her 2010 hit LFO , in collaboration with Reija Lee, is 40% dubstep, 30% pop, and 30% experimental. Not sure how that may sound? Well, give the track a listen and it will sound like a 100% dancefloor killer. This year, Kito's first EP [...]
