London's Lianne La Havas has been on our radar since the start of the year after we found her video for "Forget" and then subsequently named her One To Watch . Since then she's toured all over the shop, released another couple of songs and announced her debut album "Is Your Love Big Enough" due for release on July 9th. Yesterday she released the title track and accompanying video, a live montage of her touring life both on and [...]
Lianne La Havas premieres her new infectious single from the forthcoming debut project ' Is Your Love Big Enough .' Watch the documentary-styled clip above. Big tune Ms. Havas... big tune! Album will see daylight on July 9th.
Size, it would appear, matters -- at least when it comes to the dimensions of love being measured via the latest video from rising Brit star Lianne La Havas . The title track from her forthcoming August 7 U.S. debut via Nonesuch, "Is Your Love Big Enough?" is a fizzy swig of jazzy, uptempo pop/folk with a solid rhythmic right cross and the quick-cut documentary-styled video -- live shots, adoring crowds, backstage antics -- does a good [...]

Our show picks for Morrissey's birthday (Moz himself is in San Diego tonight): ► The Riverboat Gamblers' new album "The Wolf You Feed" is out today, and the Texas punk-rock quintet celebrates with a show at the Satellite, supported by Biters and Roll the Tanks. ► The Mark Lanegan Band swings back through town behind the new album "Blues Funeral" for a special show at the Autry Center. ► Beck plays a sold-out show at the El Rey Theatre. ► The reunited Sparta [...]

For the third Monday in May: ► Resurgent U.K. pop singer Daniel Bedingfield (remember "Gotta Get Thru This" from 2002?), on the heels of his first release since 2004, plays the Hotel Cafe tonight as part of the SuperSoul Mondays 3-Year Anniversary Party, along with Jason Joseph & the Spectacular and more. Bedingfield's new EP "Stop the Traffik — Secret Fear" is available for free download at his website. ► Residencies at the Eastside clubs are going great guns: At the Bootleg Bar, Harriet is joined by the Soft White Sixties, [...]

The South Coast's equivalent to SXSW, queues aside, last weekend's The Great Escape down beside the seaside was as jubilant as any Jubilee hyperbole. What of those snaking lines? Well, that for Claire Boucher may most probably have been spotted somewhere off the coast of Normandy whilst that for Friends was washed a little more literally out to sea as they played the decadently delightful Horatio's Bar atop Brighton Pier. Here's who we saw and what we thunk in fortunately concise format... Thursday I [...]

They grew up just down the road. They've had two, well, three popular records, and their meteoric rise doesn't show any signs of stopping tonight as Bombay Bicycle Club top the bill at Alexandra Palace. The atmosphere's as friendly as the music in Ally Pally as Lianne La Havas comes on stage. Her rising star flying over her homeland tonight as her reception is immense. Ever since her appearance on Jools Holland, the singer-songwriter's endearingly personal EP 'Lost and Found' has been played to a wide array of [...]

April 28, 2012 A few beautiful snaps from Bombay Bicycle Club's recent headline show at London's Alexandra Palace. Support on the night came from Lianne La Havas and Rae Morris . All photos by Alex Kavanagh. More of Alex's work can be found at http://www.alexkavanagh.com . [...]
Today I'm taking it down several notches. I love soothing house music, and today's entry is a prime example of just that. Singer/songwriter Lianne La Havas (pictured) has been remixed by two of my favorite producers, Maya Jane Coles and Shlohmo . What emerges is what can only be described as audaciously rejuvenating. Maya puts her signature downtempo spin on her take of Lost & Found (which you can download here for free), utilizing calming basslines and almost-silent claps. The highlight is how the lyrics flow perfectly with [...]

While we anxiously await our fresh faces of 2012 and rising singer-songwriter extraordinaire Lianne La Havas debut album this Summer, she recently took the time out to give us a preview of a new tune 'Empty' which also appears on her new single 'Lost and Found.' We could listen to this voice all day, watch the lovely clip above.

Having had the pleasure of seeing the band six times now, I can honestly say that I was not disappointed

Lianne La Havas, much like Lana Del Rey towards the end of last year, seems to be the remix artist du jour. And, much like the plethora of remixes that were made of Miss Del Rey, some of those remixes are a whole heap better than others. Brilliant remixes have come through from Lapalux and Ifan Dafydd - but the latest to touch us is this ocean deep remix of 'Lost and Found' from Maya Jane Coles. The piano melody drops into the beat here like rain, and with characteristic flair MJC's use of vocals leaves them to [...]

One of the names that I've started to hear being thrown around about town is Lianne La Havas . Apparently she is some awesome British and/or European artist with a super sexy and soulful vocals. Old friend Shlohmo does what he does with her track "Forget" with his understated beats to turn this into the chillout song of the day/week/month/year. This might be the perfect representation of the type of stuff I'm most into at this moment in time. You should also check out Lianne's tunes when they are not in this wonderfully chopped up and reworked [...]
I feel pretty smug whenever I hear a new cut from Slime . Mostly because I've always heard them at least a few months before they drop, but secondly because I love Will Archer more than he'll ever know. OMG babe, if you're reading this hit me up, we haven't jammed in AGES. Anyway, he's only gone and remixed a track from mega sensation Lianne La Havas . It's just what you'd expect from Slime , masterfully soulful, serene and bitterly somber, yet hopeful of what's to come. [...]
