New Liars OMG! I had totally forgotten they have a new album coming out in June... If "No.1 Against The Rush" is any indication of more forthcoming gloomy art rock, there's much reason to be excited.

Hopefully you're not the kind of person to judge a band based on their haircuts, because if you were you might dismiss New York-based experimental Indie-Rock titans Liars to make batshit insane nutjob music . They may not be the most conventional band on the planet, but conventional is boring, something that can't be said for Liars . The band have finished work on their sixth studio album, have called it "WIXIW" , is apparently almost entirely electronic-based, and will be out on June 5th via Mute . [...]

We heard a couple of weeks ago that Liars were all ready with a new album. Unfortunately, they didn't give many details, so it really wasn't worth passing along. Now we have more. We've got crazy levels of affection for Liars around these parts, so when studio videos started surfacing of the band working on their latest WIXIW , we were totally stoked. This summer, Liars will release their new album WIXIW , their follow-up to 20102s Sisterworld . Pitchfork recently spoke to frontman Angus Andrew, and apparently, the new LP is more electronic and sample-based than anything they've done in the past. But leadoff track "No. 1 Against The Rush," while it has a bit of an electronic sheen, fits very cleanly with the seasick art-rock the band has been doing for the past decade or so. Liars will return on June 5th with their sixth studio album, the follow-up to 20102s Sisterworld . According to an issued press release, "recording saw the band working more collaboratively than on previous recordings, and began when Angus Andrew and Aaron Hemphill moved into an isolated cabin in the mountains to begin writing." It was then recorded in Los Angeles, self-produced by the band with Mute Records co-founder Daniel Miller, mixed by Tom Biller, and will be released by Mute Records. K-Holes are one of the bands that you're either going to love or hate, though I'd prefer if you loved them. Every time I listen to their single for their upcoming record, Dismania, I nostalgically wander back to the early days of Liars .
