The week went by so fast and yet it was full of stress for most of the people I know. Weird, huh? Well, I know what I always do to destress: Rock out to some Alternative Tunes. The funny thing about this countdown is that the songs can take on a comfort food feel to them. So, pull up a chair and enjoy! Countdown #88 ***Featuring*** The Black Keys Blink-182 Bush Cage the Elephant Chevelle Coldplay Foo Fighters Lifehouse Red Hot Chili Peppers Switchfoot Young the Giant
Admittedly, I haven't been paying much attention to Arcade Fire for a long time, because last time I listened to them in 2006, the only reasonable song of theirs was "Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)." Yet, even that song is kind of boring. Not into the whole "Modest Mouse" pitchy voice thing either. In 2006 when "Tunnels" was released, we knew two people who talked about how awesome the band was. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, always, but those same two people also enjoyed bands like Rascal Flatts, Pete Yorn and Lifehouse, which pretty much speaks for itself. [...]

L.A.-based band Lifehouse returned to the District on Saturday, only this time to a most peculiar venue: Nationals Park , home of the Washington Nationals baseball team. Lead guitarist Ben Carey began the night's events with a Jimmy Hendrix rendition of the National Anthem prior to the first pitch-thrown by drummer, Rick Woolstenhulme . The full band united on stage in centerfield to conclude the evening with a free post-game concert. Feeding off of the excitement of a bottom of [...]

Hailing from California, United States, multi-platinum rock stars Lifehouse have been greatly releasing and crafting away since the year 1999. Throughout this time they have had a two of their band members replaced and released five studio albums, but unlike other rock bands in years gone by, these two former members in question left on good spirits. 'Halfway Gone' is their present single release from the 2010 album "Smoke & Mirrors" featuring a tasty line-up of producers. It's a shame that last year came and went by without me hearing a single dicky bird about Lighthouse, but in [...]

Lifehouse - Everything I want to feel you I need to hear you You are the light That's leading me To the place where I find peace again It's to hard to even try and pick my favorite, most meaningful lines for this track. This is a favorite song of mine, and the actual album is one of the few I enjoy from start to finish. To me, even if this wasn't a track on the radio, it is the best song that Lifehouse has. All the words mean so [...]

VH1's Do Something Awards honors young people promoting social change—but the televised ceremony is also a good excuse to have music acts perform their hit songs. (The awards air on a music channel, after all.) Performances—as well as host Jane Lynch's homage to Eminem during the show's opener—below! Before we get to the music acts at last night's show, we simply must repost the awesome opener, featuring a prerecorded bit of Jane Lynch doing some good to earn her place as host at the do-gooding ceremony. The scene transitions into Lynch live at the [...]
This 12th edition is awash with romantic sentiment, passionate desire and, as always, a bit of playful naughtiness.
I'll admit it; I've had a soft spot for Lifehouse ever since their first album. I know that their career is based around formulaic, inside-the-box adult friendly rock, but in the past they've been consistently good for a handful of enjoyable, bouncy pop rock tunes, never moreso than their last record, the gem Who We Are . Simple and predictable? Yes, but also fun. But for their fifth album Smoke & Mirrors Lifehouse go back to the well and find its run dry, and their attempts to explore new sonic terrain fall flat, coming off as tired. [...]

[Morgan Page] Morgan Page's new album "Believe" comes out February 23rd, so I thought I'd post some of the tracks. You'll probably recognize the two singles "Fight for You" and "Strange Condition," which have been getting quite a bit of hype lately. Personally, I think "Tell Me Why" is the best track on the album. Morgan Page - Fight for You [Progressive House] Morgan Page - Strange Condition [...]
