The son of a Texas preacher, Josh T. Pearson is a troubled man who has spent a major part of the last few years battling with his demons. Pearson was the chief songwriter, guitar player and singer for the band Lift To Experience whose sole release "The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads" (2001) is a vast, powerful, spiritual, apocalyptic double album. I Imagine this is what "Grace" would have sounded like had Jeff Buckley been born in the deep south, met the devil at the crossroads and had a strong belief that Texas was the promised land and that the [...]

Yeah, that's me, wearing an original "Thriller" jacket worn and autographed by Michael Jackson during his world tour. No, that's not how I spent your donations, I swear. I just needed a picture of myself wearing it. You know, because you never know when you're going to need a picture of yourself looking like a flaming homosexual... 75orLess blog! Kevin from Ohio! The two of you combined put the Swan Fungus blog's first (and only) fundraiser over the lofty goal of $350 in two weeks! Thank you everybody who donated, I think I've mentioned you all by name [...]

But first, I have to review this week's news! Hmm...I see...yes, well, that's very interesting ... Oh, I didn't know that was still happening ... You mean they haven't cured it yet? ... I have a difficult time believing his review ... WHy would anybody go see that movie? ... Who owns stock these days? ... Isn't science just the most fascinating ... He's dating her ? ... I didn't know that piss-poor country even had a president! ... Oh shit. I was holding it upside down! [...]

Lift To Experience - These Are The Days (extrait de l'album The Texas Jerusalem Crossroads ) .

I went to the zoo today. Buuuuut, I've just now left my camera in my car (which is parked about three miles from my apartment) so you won't get to see any pictures until tomorrow. There will be lots of sleeping animals and empty cages for you to stare in awe at, but also some really cool photographs, like the one-month-old giraffe, and the elephant, and the alligator, and the black bear. Also, one of the chimpanzees took a shit in its hand, flung some of it at another chimp and then ate the remainder. A group of schoolchildren started [...]

This weekend was the 5th annual Extreme Beer Fest in Boston. I couldn't go, seeing as how I'm living 3,000 miles away now, but I remember fondly the last time I attended what could only be described as a huge, nerd-filled drinking contest. It was two years ago, and I drove up to Bristol, Rhode Island, where my friend Ian attended law school. I described the entire weekend in detail here on the blog, but I'm sure it wasn't my finest moment as a writer seeing as how I was intoxicated pretty much from the moment I arrived on Friday [...]

With Valentine's Day rapidly approaching, I think it's high-time we all take a step back and evaluate where we are in our lives. What, you don't do that each February 14th? Really? I'm alone on this one? Whatever, you're all a bunch of fags. Inevitably, a ton of you dorks are going to have relationships terminated on that day by someone you love. "Why on earth would someone choose Valentine's Day as the perfect day to dump somebody," you ask? Isn't the answer obvious, retard? People are cold, calculating assholes. That's why. They're sadists, and they want to [...]

Un petit bout de Lift To Experience . Les diamants son éternels. Lift To Experience - When We Shall Touch
...or Poshfest, as I like to call it. Honestly, it was the most middle-class, civillised event I can possibly imagine. Even the toilets remained usable all the way through the weekend. That may sound like I am mocking it, and in a way I am, but myself along with it because you see, I loved this [...]
Okay so next weekend I will be going to my first festival in about 3 or 4 years. Thats not been out of choice of course, but due to being very very poor and not taking out a student loan over four years of higher education. Still that time of evil is over, and as anyone who's seen my rather scary amount of posts on the Drowned In Sound forums recently can tell, i'm mega-uber-excited. My excitement is so great in fact that it was spotted by ATP curator Barry Hogan, who I recorded a phone interview with last week [...]

Poor old Lift To Experience fans. One solitary stinkingly superb album, and then split. Not fair is it? After forming all the way back in 1996 in Denton, Texas, vocalist/guitarist Josh T. Pearson, bassist Josh Browning and drummer Andy Young, took five whole years to finally get around to releasing their only album, the stunning The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads . And then they split. Forever. Frontman Pearson is now of course embarking on a solo career (songs can be heard at his myspak ), which from what i've heard looks to be just as promising as his [...]
The Top Question No Fucking One Fucking Asked This Year... "So J, What have you been listening to?" Under Byen - Af Samme Stof Som Stof Swedish coo-cooness. Yeah, that's wood blocks. I fuckin' love 'em. All broads from that area sound a bit like Bjork. So, who's ready for Drawing Restraint 10? [...]
20JFG has a bit of a bad reputation in certain quarters, they say we're a bunch of bitter nerds and that we hate everything except the odd gem of putrefact noise that sounds like Thom Yorke's face,...
