Today, we have the pleasure of premiering their video for 'With the Pieces,' a track from their October-released debut album 'Feel You're Different.' "This song was [...]

I had the chance to catch Lights Resolve 's cryptic performance last week at Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY in honor of the release of their debut album Feel You're Different . The band, dressed in all black, drew the crowd in from the very first haunting guitar ring guitarist Matt Reich let out. It's obvious these guys are digging deep. With slates of mirror behind the instruments that the entire crowd could see themselves in during their set, it seems like the band is asking their audiences to do the same. [...]

On their long-awaited, full-length record, "Feel You're Different," Lights Resolve delve deeper into the dark side of rock. Following a different path from their previous three well-received EP's, the Long Island-based trio delivers 11 powerful, fully produced and great sounding tracks. Previously released "Another Five Days" receives a sonic makeover, assimilating the grittier edge and intricate layering of the newer material. A series of heavy, fervent tracks, including the impassioned single, "Sew It Up," pounding "Happens Every Day", distortion-ridden "HIPS," frenetic "Stick Em Up," and explosive "With the Pieces," culminate in the enraged "Misfire." Even dancy "Hurt a [...]
The Deli Magazine brings us a Stadium Red Live video of Lights Resolve for their song "Happens Everyday". We previewed this track on the site earlier, but watching and hearing the live version brings the energy up to a whole new level. If this song was a punch in the face on recording, this video is surely a brutal beating. It's amazing how much sound these guys fill up with just 3 instruments and no backing tracks. Matt Reich 's guitar solo towards the end of the song has some sort of octave effect that [...]

Today we bring you the latest track from our hometown buddies in Lights Resolve , "Happens Every Day", off of their long awaited full-length debut, Feel You're Different . The record is set to be released October 25th, 2011. This track is a 90's influenced punk-rock fusion of angst, melody and downright filth. This band buzzed hard in 2009, playing Bamboozle, SXSW, CMJ and Warped Tour; Rolling Stone even awarded them 'Breakout Band' of that year. This track is a sure start to getting their name back on the map. Lights Resolve - [...]

After seeing Lights Resolve a few years ago, we're happy to hear they will have an album out this year. The New York group's rock appeal falls on a harder side than we often cover, yet the instrumental ambience exists in dream guitars and solid anthems poppy enough to warrant added attention. As well as being available on iTunes, " Dreaming of Love " is downloadable for Rock Band. Lights Resolve - Dreaming of Love What's the Weekend Burn? It's MUF's way of keeping the fire [...]

If you pass them on the street, Lights Resolve look just like any other group of laid back guys, but catch them at a show and you'll see that these four guys are extraordinary-they're legends in the making. These guys have already been praised as restoring people's faith in music. PopWreckoning caught up with these young music gods at SXSW. Check it out: Joshua, PopWreckoning: Last time I talked to you guys, you were prepping for the giant NY show . How did it go? We covered it, but I wasn't personally [...]

This week the in-store version of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs ' It's Blitz is finally out while Death Cab For Cutie 's Open Door EP is being released digitally. Both should provide quite a spark for any fan of their previous works. Peter, Bjorn & John also hit shelves today as Living Thing marks another chapter in the Swedes' collection of new wave pop recordings. We previously jammed to [...]

PureVolume.Com kicked off its house party tonight for the music portion of S XSW the other night. As cool as the idea of an unofficial party is, the main draw seemed to be the free alcohol and not so much the actual music. So for a majority of the night, there seemed to be more people crowded in the outdoor tent in an attempt to cool off or in the bar area for the free alcohol. However, there was one band that did seem to have the energy and appeal to gather more people [...]

As the bustle of 20 somethings pour into the somewhat crowded and dimly lit hallway, the sounds of the opening act slowly begin to waft in. With a line around the block, latent with teenage angst and an assortment green hair and body jewelry, we know we have come to the right place. The buzz of excitement mounts as the stage is cleared and Lights Resolve finally plugs in. The energy is immediate, without missing a beat, the band begins with an upbeat, poppy number and the crowd reciprocates in [...]
The Riffs and Snow Drifts Tour is winding down w/ two last shows in Georgia. Check out this review of the January 20th show in Philadelphia, PA. Music Under Fire blog
The quaint stage nestled in The Khyber of Downtown Philadelphia was recently visited by Lights Resolve and Elevation as part of the Riffs & Snow Drifts Tour . A surprisingly boisterous crowd for a Tuesday night waited in anticipation for the strong sounds and vocals both of these bands produce. Elevation My growing interest in Elevation had me excited to see their live performance. When listening to their album you immediately hear the flexibility of lead vocalists Nathan Smith's range. The live performance was no [...]

There's nothing like going to a show, not knowing any of the bands playing and leaving a the end of the night with each of their CDs. There need to be more shows like this. Atlanta rockers Elevation took the stage and filled the place with their indie pop glam rock goodness. Everyone was crammed into the small area and the energy couldn't be contained in that area. They got the room moving in no time at all. Razoreyes from Strangelove ( buy ) [...]
