...Like Clockwork // Queens of the Stone Age By Mark Robinson See, the inherit issue with creating two of the finest hard rock albums of the 21st century, is trying to top the bastards. It’s an issue that Josh Homme has attempted to overcome; firstly with 2005’s sprawling but inconsistent Lullabies to Paralyze , and then again with 2007’s Era Vulgaris , which – while patchy – was a tighter, more focused affair. But there’s always felt like something was lost when QOTSA parted ways [...]

Want some new indie-alternative music to love? Buenos Aires, Argentina's The New Beans will have it. Their music is packed with melodic choruses, creative lyrics, and has a lot of soul. We caught up with the band earlier this week, so have a read as AMBY spoke with The New Beans about their self-titled album, equipment breaking down, and plans for the year! AMBY: Hey The New Beans! Please introduce yourselves to AMBY. The New Beans: We are Ignacio Grazzini (guitar, vocals), Javier Ojeda (bass), [...]

When I first heard Breathe Out a couple of years ago it felt like a revelation. Which, I'm sure they'll forgive me for saying, isn't really an expected reaction to the kind of music they make. Straight-up scuzzy, slightly mucky, DIY guitar pop is their thing and they do it relatively simply (albeit brilliantly) - but something about their self-titled EP just clicked for me. More than that; it hit me. Straight in the gut. Lord knows why music has that effect on us, but I'm so so glad it does. Fast forward to the present [...]
I just read an article on Marketing Prof's about a technique that will make it easier for us musicians to get new and existing fans to like, share or buy more of our music and merch. To explain, I am going to reference physics (please note that I am really not really this smart but this is what came to mind when reading this article). Anyway, if you've ever had a basic physics class, you might remember something about Newtons First Law that says that objects in motion tend to stay in motion, the same is [...]

Shot on location in Monterey, California to coincide with their Spring 2013 lookbook, LRG presents the music video for "Savages" by Southern California trio Pac Div. "Savages" is pulled from their well-received sophomore effort GMB. iTunes: GMB (Deluxe Edition) - Pac Div

How exactly does one go about remixing a classic tune like Nas ' "The World is Yours"? Do you try to overhaul the track and give it a modern sound? Or do you embrace the dusty, perfect original's jazziness? Pac Div 's Like went the latter route, flipping a Duke Ellington sample to complement the Illmatic classic. I'm still partial to the original, of course, but a complete re-up from Like is starting to sound like a pretty good idea.

It's a fierce, unforgiving world out there. More so when a pair of feline individuals ' a la AlunaGeorge ' sneakily upload their brilliant R&B and call themselves Lion Babe ... (All of which while I watch a brilliant episode of Human Planet with David Attenborough's voice in the background...). Not long after did blogs start to pick up on the idea and fall prey to the awesomeness of the bait that you can listen and download to below : Lion Babe - Treat Me Like Fire [...]
By Eliot Van Buskirk of Evolver.fm . Marketers tend to view Facebook Likes as a window into, if not the very soul of a person, then at least their musical interests. However, we’ve caught wind of a trend that complicates Liking. The short story: If an artist starts to gain traction (i.e. other people think they are cool), some people will Like them just to have the band’s name show up on their profile. However, they don’t actually want to hear from the band. [...]
As a particular segment of the gravitates towards what you're offering, doesn't mean you have to market to them. Yet another way to find people online is almost certainly government or public records searching for. If you've ever seen per square box with black stripes in it in newspapers and therefore signs and wondered what in which is, it's a QR coupon. Which the costs are minimal compared in the market to hiring an investigator. Bring in sure that you join solely groups that are, in particular important way, relevant to what exactly you are doing and [...]
