As the pop singer made her entrance at the Apollo in Manchester, she tripped on her heels and almost stumbled into an impromptu crowd-surfing session. Luckily, Allen saved herself from falling on her face and quickly slipped off the shoes. The 24-year-old then resumed her performance barefoot.

Pic: by caligulashots "And we can pop bottles all night, baby you could have whatever you like".
Just days after hinting at the possibility of a reunion , Robbie Williams hit the stage with his former Take That bandmates at a benefit concert at London's Royal Albert Hall last night (November 12th). Unfortunately, as The Daily Mirror reports, said reunion lasted only 57 seconds ( as evident by this YouTube video ) and did not even result in a note. Instead it served as the first step in what Williams hinted could be a big reunion. "The reunion's not happening tonight - we have [...]

And so today brings the final nominees list for the People's Choice Awards , a roundup of the some of the less-challenging artists and material from the past year or so. And— yippee! —this was the first year that "we, the people" were allowed to have somewhat of a say in the nominees. But despite this privilege, snubs still abound in the music categories. 1. Favorite Male Artist: Eminem, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw To be fair, the choices for the "male artist" category always [...]

Lily Allen (she's in Neighbours today on RTE2!) will be rereleasing her splendid second album It's Not Me, It's You on November 16th (the 13th in Ireland) with a bunch of extra tunes as well as a bonus live disc. The second disc, which is a DVD of her Shepherd's Bush concert includes the excellent 'LDN/Dance Wiv Me' mix, and there will also be a cover of 'Womanizer' by Britney Spears. It's good that for once there's a re-release actually worth buying. disc 1 [...]

I have previously mentioned how I have grown a thick skin to all the way too many remixes of MGMT's Kids. Yet this cover simply blew me away. The Kooks, a British indie pop band, have rejuvinated my liking to Kids with their amazing cover. The Kooks have been known to do many covers of popular songs like Gnarls Barkley's Crazy and Coldplay's Violet Hill. It may feel a little early for this sort of thing, but we on the Amazon music team have pooled our collective knowledge and taste to determine the best music of 2009. We spent 2009 soothed by Neko Case 's wail, moved to dance by Yeah Yeah Yeahs ' turn towards big beats, intrigued by Somali hip-hop Troubadour K'naan, and ready to hear three key words from neo-twangsters the Avett Brothers . On the songs side, French popsters Phoenix went nutty for a composer and [...]
Lily Allen "223 Lily Allen is very good at writing songs that bluntly articulate deep, painful fears, particularly those rooted in extremely cynical conventional wisdom about how life works. Even when it is clear that she's writing from a satirical perspective, it's hard to imagine that she entirely disagrees with everything she's singing — she might not want some things to be true or entirely believe that they are, but she's aware of some very ugly realities. Things may not be quite as bad as they seem in her lyrics, but chances are, your insecurities are [...]
Yesterday, we received a DMCA notice from Blogger for a post I wrote back in June (it's this one , so far unbothered in its current Wordpress form). This was a little weird for 3 reasons: 1) we don't use Blogger anymore, having switched hosts three months ago. 2) people who go to the old Blogger page are automatically redirected to this one, so no one can actually view the post for more than a couple seconds. 3) the songs featured on that post haven't been available to download in over 4 months, per this site's mp3 policy, which can be [...]

Let this be the last time you have to look at this image . In a klonopin- or––let's be nice––jet-lag-induced haze, Lady Gaga insists that the only music she listens to is not actually music at all, but the sound of her fans throwing praise in her direction during her––what appears to be daily––concerts. Host/sounding board to chaos Alexa Chung stoically endures. † In this week's Village Voice (the paper!) Joss Stone is unimpressed by Lily Allen's attempts to influence the law on filesharing, on the grounds that Allen isn't really a musician : "[Lily] needs to sell records because she's not a singer, and that's not an offence to her because I think that she knows that too," Stone told the Press Association. Whereas Stone is "making real music [and] people [will] come to the show" for "artist[s] like Lily ... it's about the track, their personality and their celebrity". Yes, people really shouldn't take bread out the mouths of actual [...]

Filed under: News , Holy Hell Joss Stone Oh, it's on. Joss Stone -- who just dropped her fourth studio album 'Colour Me Free' -- is clearly ready for a fight, saying Lily Allen isn't really a singer and has an unrealistic outlook about filesharing. "She is more of a personality than she is a singer," Stone told the UK Press Association . "[Lily] needs to sell records because she's not a singer, and that's not an offense to her because I think [...]
