'Wolves' By The Good Natured. At the end of 2010 we listed who we hoped would be big in 2011 , top of the pile was the wonderful The Good Natured (aka Sarah McIntosh). She's just released a new studio song as a free download (above) so we thought we'd catch up with her and find out what's been happening thus far in 2011. Hopefully we will do a few more updates with her during the course of 2011... And so hot off the press as we have literally just put [...]

Lily Allen is the subject of the BBC documentary, Lily Allen: Riches To Rags (Ed. note: jeez, what a miserable title), and in the TV special, the currently retired pop star freely discusses her two miscarriages, as well as suffering an eating disorder. Allen — who recently blasting Kanye West for his insensitive tweets regarding abortion — suffered a miscarriage in 2008, and just two years later, lost her second child six months into her pregnancy. "It was a really long battle," she says in the [...]
Channel 4 are pushing their 'Lily Allen goes into fashion' programme with the claim that she's making a change while "at the top of her career". She's not released an album in two years; hasn't bothered the top ten since then. Obviously, there's reasons for some of the hiatus. But to call her on the top of her career is a bit of a stretch. -- Visit No Rock & Roll Fun to comment, complain and kvetch

Toronto - With Lily Allen on the constant verge of collapse, it would seem that the door has been left wide open for many artists to capture the heart of the UK and indie nation with sharply written bubbly summer pop music. Enter Eliza Doolittle , a cute twenty two year old brunette whose pop songs seem to channel the good time vibes of 60s girl bands and motown while sounding somewhat modern at the same time. Eliza's self titled debut record has already done extremely well in the UK charts and she is now ready to take her [...]
Still here! Still kicking. Words though? Don't have 'em. Yawns - I got plenty of those. And yes... this is a keep the blog ticking along kinda post. You're familiar with these by now, right? Coming Around - Hungry Kids Of Hungary Holidays - Miami Horror The Fear - Lily Allen Rich Kids [...]
Kanye West really is an asshat, isn't he? He tweeted this bollocks: "An abortion can cost a ballin' nigga up to 50gs maybe a 100. "Gold diggin' bitches be getting pregnant on purpose. #STRAPUP my niggas!" Gordon Smart describes this as "an unsavoury tweet about abortion" , which seems to be a surprisingly mild response to a man not only claiming that somehow women are getting "pregnant on purpose" to secure some sort of lucrative abortion, but that the solution is to make sure you wear a condom while you treat a woman like a [...]
West London girls are better at pop music than X Factor cunts.

The other day I was flipping through Sirius (Howard Stern wasn't on the air at the time) and I caught a tune by Smith Westerns. I recognized the name as one of the many CDs on my "to listen" shelf. It's uncommon that I get a submission by a band that gets any airplay to speak of, being that I focus exclusively on independent artists and mostly on those who don't have the backing of budgets for powerful press agents. So it got my attention. On the always-terrific Fat Possum label, Smith Westerns make lo [...]
[mp3] Jessie J: "Do It Like A Dude (BBC Radio 1)" Jessie J = Niki Minaj + Ke$ha + Katy Perry + Lily Allen + Kate Nash? Whatever the actual mixture is, with a hefty marketing budget and Dr. Luke at the helm you'll be hearing a lot more from her very soon, like it or not. Jessie J's debut album, Who You Are comes out this Spring via Universal/Republic Records. The above single "Price Tag" is available tomorrow.
On the 19th September, 2008, someone updated the website for Lily Allen and Friends - the BBC Three series - with this upbeat message: Thanks for watching - we hope you enjoyed Lily's show. And the great news is, she'll be back soon with a brand new series - keep checking here for more details about when it will hit your screens and how you can get involved. I'm sure we've all been checking back daily, or twice daily, as our schedules have allowed. But despite the optimistic heading "Guests: Series One" on a side bar, nothing. [...]

Filed under: News Ian Gavan, Getty Images The Anglican Bishop of Sheffield has selected Lily Allen track 'The Fear' as part of his suggestions for what churchgoers should listen to in conjunction with a Bible study course. Despite Prime Minister David Cameron branding Allen's lyrics "unsuitable" for his daughter, the Right Reverend Dr Steven Croft believes the radio-edited version of 'The Fear' captured a "certain spirit of contemporary culture", BBC News reports.
The confluence of ska, reggae, punk, new wave, rap, and disco. That's Blondie . The band formed out of the remnants of The Stilettos and the romantic relationship between guitarist Chris Stein and former Playboy bunny, waitress, and Wind In The Willows singer Deborah Harry. Originally dubbed Angel and The Snakes, Blondie rose to the top of the New York City music scene as regulars at hip ramshackle hot spots like CBGBs and Max's Kansas City. Later opening for Iggy Pop and David Bowie and headlining their own international tours, Blondie became bona fide pioneers of the [...]

I didn't know Lily Allen had a record label until Pitchfork reported it earlier today. Her record label, In The Name Of', was signed by Sony/Columbia. It turns out that it was her label who snagged Cults . It was originally reported that Cults had signed to Sony directly, but rather it's on their imprint run by Ms. Allen. Apparently the label is still hiring people. Hey Lily, I can use a job!
