Les bandes originales de films sont souvent uniquement décoratrices, reléguées à l'arrière-plan, comme de vulgaires seconds rôles. Mais parfois, comme par miracle, le réalisateur choisit une musique qui colle exactement à l'esprit du film, au point que les deux deviennent inséparables et qu'on ne sait plus si on aime le film à cause de la musique ou la musique à cause du film.
