Stereogum The Norwegian space-disco master Hans-Peter Lindstrøm has already released one album this year: Six Cups Of Rebel , a weird detour into proggy studio-pop. But he's already planning another one, and if first single "Rà-àkõ-st" is any indication, it'll be a serious return to form. The track's extended version is nearly nine minutes of toothy Italo that could've soundtracked a chase scene in an '80s sci-fi B-movie. Todd Terje mixed the track, and it's a monster. Grab it below. Lindstrøm: "Rà-àkõ-st" [Todd Terje Extended Edit] This has been on repeat in our car stereo all weekend. Norwegian space-disco producer Todd Terje strikes again with not one, but two cosmic extended edits of fellow producer Lindstrøm's new tracks "Rà-àkõ-st" and "Ęg-gęd-ōsis". Both tracks sounds great. The EP is out now Lindstrøm's own label Feedelity Recordings. Stream Todd Terje's edit of "Rà-àkõ-st" above and buy the whole thing here .
Over the long weekend Detroit hosted the Movement Electronic Music Festival , an event that featured people like Public Enemy, Major Lazer, SBTRKT, Araabmuzik and many more in the city's Hart Plaza. Chris Atto was there to document. This gallery's a little more scenery-heavy than usual, which is because some of the images make the fest look like that crazy dance party on Zion in The Matrix . Check out Chris's shots up top.

Lindstrøm and Oneohtrix Point Never might not seem like the perfect collaboration at first glance, but when you consider the former's new approach on his latest album 'Six Cups Of Rebel' it begins to make sense. Discarding the usual disco basslines and pop hooks in favour of what he considers prog-rock-influenced techno, Lindstrom's music takes on an entirely different feel, especially once reworked by Oneohtrix Point Never. At times recalling Animal Collective, Oneohtrix Point Never's ambient interpretation of 'Call Me Anytime' is a choral drone of ambient synths and an ethereal [...]

When electronic musicians remix other electronic musicians, you can expect 1,000 times the bass thumps and weird blips and bloops from the original. In this case, Oneohtrix Point Never has taken Lindstrøm's single, "Call Me Anytime", and made it even dreamier and more accessible, condensing the original song's 9:44 run time down to five minutes. Some listeners are probably thankful for that. This remix will appear on a limited edition 12" also featuring remixes from Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti and Mark McGuire and will be out June 25. Listen to OPN's remix of Lindstrøm's single, "Call [...]

Carrying on our theme of treating this week like a DJ set today we're taking things up a notch. When the crowd starts to pick up and there's a few people on the floor we'll slap a bit of disco or something mid-tempo & weird. We don't want to skip to tops off hugging the speaker just yet so we're not going too mental but if someone has memorized the entire routine to 'You Could Be Dancin" from Saturday Night Fever (please God let that happen some night), which is one of the best films of ALL TIME (SRSLY), then [...]

About time. Here's a preview of NYC's Prince Language "cosmic rave" remix of Lindstrom's epic "Where You Go I Go Too", which will finally see the light of day this spring. The original version is 10 minutes 30 seconds long, and has been marinating as a secret weapon in Prince Language's DJ sets. The Phenomenal Handclap Band's Daniel Collas dropped in for a piano solo. Awesome. Out soon on 123 vinyl and digital via The No Comprendo.

Frank Yang Just so we're clear, I am not stalking Veronica Falls . It's pure coincidence that I've seen the London-based band three times in the past year in three different countries - America , Canada , and Iceland - on two different continents. Really. Okay, it's not as though I was running into them on the street while they were playing - their self-titled debut was one of my favourites of last year (and barely missed my year-end list) so when the opportunity to see them live [...]

Check out the psychedelic new video for 120 Days' "Dahle Disco", co-produced with fellow Norwegian DJ/electronic artist Lindstrøm. The video was made by Joakim Faxvaag, the band's live visual designer who's been traveling with them around the world several times over for the last three years. The band's new album "II" will be released on March 5th via Splendour. Port-Bagages: mp3: 120 Days: "Dahle Disco"

New record by Lindstrom is out tomorrow! I was able to get an advanced copy of the record and its good. It is very different than his debut album Where you go I go to released four years ago. Think more synth, funk, sweeping opening film type stuff ("No Release") and almost progressive rock type sounds. "De Javu" still stands out as my favorite track on the record with perhaps "Hina" second. Regardless just like his last album its a journey from beginning to end that begs the listener to join along. Great stuff. Check out some remixes... [...]
Norwegian space-disco king Hans-Peter Lindstrøm has a new album called Six Cups Of Rebel coming next week; we've already posted his track " De Javu ." And in something of a coup, he's recruited a very special remixer to come in and rework the album track "Quiet Place To Live": '70s studio-rock master Todd Rundgren. Talking to Rolling Stone , Lindstrøm says, "I'm not aware of any other remixes he's done before, in which case this feels really special as Todd Rundgren's music has been inspiring me a lot over the years." Listen to Rundgren's dizzy, [...]

To celebrate 40 years since the release of Roxy Music’s eponymous debut album in 1972, the band have allowed two of their biggest hits to be remixed. Available today, on a deluxe 12” or exclusively through Beatport, Todd Terje’s edit of Roxy's ‘Love Is The Drug’ gives the evergreen club classic a contemporary twist and [...]
