I dunno what happened over the last while there but I became a bit blog allergic (either of reading others or writing up my own). It seems to have passed though. I'm going to start mucking into this again over the next few evenings and posting up lots of nice MP3s. Starting with this molten missile of space-dance. MP3: Lindstrom- Grand Ideas Lindstrom always looked [...]

I've never really been able to go past a Joakim edit or remix before, he always seems to keep producing these epic pieces of music that captivate you over and over again, from his creeping rendition of Cut Copy's 'Hearts On Fire' to the italo disco remix of 'A Mountain for President' . Here are two more masterpieces; the first Joakim edit you might recognise from such mixtapes as Hoodrat's Finger Prince part 2 , it makes a sneaky appearance at the beginning. The second remix, for Max Berlin , [...]
Audiversity's weekly column on music we stumble across during our sonic adventures. No random numbers, just straight audio goodness. PM: We've heralded the brilliance of Over the Atlantic's "Fly to the States" (from their 2006 debut Junica ) before , but recently I was cruising YouTube on a slow night and stumbled upon a mercifully full version of the way they played it live on their last U.S. tour. This is a very different approach from the recorded take: The bass sounds more New Order than hypnotically dubbed-out [...]

Been away a while, Uni's finished so I'll be attempting to post twice a week now. Been to some great gigs recently the DFA mini fest of the Cut Copy shows, the epic Black Keys show last weekend and the Berlin Session a few weeks ago. Just watched The Darjeerling Limited last night too, was an amazing movie, the best I have seen in ages, can't wait for Batman. Ok what's been happening on the music front? Well I think I'll just run through a couple of choice labels and what activity has been happening on their rosters. [...]

Riding the tidal wave of dance rock, get ready to be whipped into shape, ha sometimes I surprise myself. The Whip - Sister Siam (James Rutledge Remix) The Whip - Dubsex Saturday night is the seven headed - 56 fingered juggernaut that is !!! rolls [...]
Wow, what a party! Black Diamond and I think it was one of the best ever, and it was good to finally meet Phillip Fill. Here's one from earlier in the night by Lindstrom. I think it's pretty rare as far as Lindstrom tracks go but it's already on a lot of blogs. I've always thought it was good but now I KNOW it is because it got Prez dancing. Enjoy. [...]

It may seem as though we've been slipping into slow dormancy over the past few weeks here at AiMT. Here's my first of three excuses. I'll get around to posting the other two (singles and albums lists) sooner or later. All in good time… These lists are by far the biggest features I've ever written/compiled on this site or any other. Seriously. There are approximately 800 billion lines of html code for each list. Shit is insane. So please forgive my lack of posts in the past few weeks. After I get these lists [...]
Dance music covers of prior classic dance music are rare when compared to other genres I feel. Rock and jazz albums are rife with versions of classics and standards from their respective genres, but modern dance music artists are more inclined to pay homage to a tune by remixing it rather than completely reinterpreting the piece from scratch. One exception to this though is Italian musician Lucio Battisti's 'Il Veliero', the haunting melody of which has been covered by at least one artist from each subsequent generation of dance music producer. Here I [...]
Ah, Lindstrom, our main cosmic disco-man, we have spent a fair few cold nites in listening to your hypnotic kosmiche beat constructions, got lost in the myriad tunnels of the mind with the shimmer of your ethereal holographic emerald synths as a companion, floated further and further down the cracks ...

The first few things I bought by Lindstrom were on Jazid. He was called Slow Supreme then and his track 'Granada' was a dancefloor bomb. It was hot with a certain crowd but I don't know that it really crossed over to all DJs. It's only once he started his own label Feedelity in 2003 that more people started to take notice. And even then it has only really been the last two years where you could say he has found 'success'. The Nordic cosmic / balearic vibe has been written about extensively. Lindstrom, [...]

With my feet back in England and the responsibility of blogging weighing heavy on my shoulders after a stint away I find myself faced with my music hard drive virtually melted on my return. This poses a number of problems - the worst of it being how do I get my music off my iPod and onto my computer to get it back onto my iPod again (if anyone has had to do this regardless of all the freeware out there it's still an an arse to do.) The answer? The network at work! As I [...]

I've been loving me a lot of tunes with male producers and female vocalists. To keep a long and drawn out curiosity rant short, who is this girl? (This is part wonderment, and part fun by the way - needless to say, my charts show a spike in random female vocalists just kind of showing up and leaving without proper introduction. Yes, a little bit of research could work wonders, but hey, I'm a blogger. Most likely these 2 songs do have the same girl [...]

As promised more re-posts of exclusive tracks. This space-disco odyssey comes from Hans-Peter Lindstrom and is an unreleased gem of angelic proportions. See the original post here . Lindstrom - Breakfast in Heaven // Unreleased Promo Feedelity Myspace

[mp3, space disco, Lindstr??m, Prins Thomas, Todd Terje, Carl Craig, Goldfrapp, Brennan Green, Reverso 68] Reconozco que odio la m??sica disco.
The resurfacing of Space Disco in the last couple of years didn't really come as much of a suprise for this Italo obssessed 20Jazzkateer. We had electro and synthpop, then acid, (i'm ignoring Neu... Klaxons, "Atlantis To Interzone" (Metronomy remix) Klaxons, "Magick" I always feel like I'm giving Metronomy a bit of a shafting. I mean, by this point, I've posted - what? - forty? fifty? thousand? of his songs, but only once as the lead, and I spent most of that entry talking about how painfully unstimulating I found their debut album to be (and, for the record, still do). It just feels like
