Brooklyn's White Rabbits , whose third album "Milk Famous" came out in March on TBD Records, head up a 25-strong lineup of bands and DJs for the 2nd Annual Hudson Block Party , a two-stage outdoor event going off Sunday in West Hollywood. little hurricane, a dirty blues duo from sunny San Diego, deliver one catchy straightforward sound. One half of the two-piece is Anthony "Tone" Catalano on lead vocals and guitar; the second half being Celeste "CC" Spina, a spunky female who rocks out on drums and also supplies the backing vocals. It's easy to conjure up comparisons of The White Strips (or stretching it a bit here, The Black Keys, minus the female aspect, that is). Sometimes you get some information on a band, and you're tempted to look the other way, panning them as just another run of the mill bluesy duo. Little Hurricane had quite a year in 2011. While many bands struggle for years to fight for the attention of fans, labels and the media, Little Hurricane found the buzz almost immediately. The two-piece band formed after lead singer/guitarist Anthony Catalano posted an ad on Craigslist for a drummer. I've used Craigslist to sell a couch, area rug, and old dog dishes and I've encountered my fair share of characters.
